WHAT IS A HEALTHCARE ADVOCATE Healthcare Advocates provide one-on-one customized services, offering patients and their families a spectrum of education and guidance; in navigating the complex and often confusing healthcare maze. Advocates provide services across the continuum of care; which includes the doctor’s office, ED, hospital, short-term rehab, hospice, and long term care nursing home. Sample it, and they will buy... 💰 💵 It’s been almost a year since I endeavor on the journey of helping older adults with tech. I’ve learned a lot from managing teams, getting leads, doing sales,... the list goes on. But the biggest lesson I’ve learned, is the concept of giving your product or service away for FREE. CRAZY 😮 “Sample it, and they will buy” my mentor says. It might sound unconventional, but this approach has been a game-changer. In a world where everything has a price, the act of giving freely really stands out. It builds trust, reputation, and connections. To be hoenst, the thought of not charging seems pretty counterproductive. Crazy even! Yet, it's this very tactic (I am still suprised) that has propelled our growth. When we give without immediate expectation of return, it creates a ripple effect. Our clients become our champions, sharing their experiences with friends and family. This word-of-mouth is priceless, especially with older adults. It's an investment in building a reputable, trusted brand. So, here's to the power of free - a strategy that's about much more than the bottom line. Story Time: Uncovering the Challenges of RBTs Working in Clinics 🌩️ I've had the distinct privilege of connecting with some incredibly talented clinicians in our field through our company interviews. My team and I have spoken with over a hundred RBTs in the San Diego area, and I'm continually in disbelief at what is deemed acceptable in our industry. 😮 Sadly, some practices paint a misleading picture of what the field is really like, setting unrealistic and unhealthy expectations for RBTs about their careers as clinicians. The Struggles Are Real 😟... Some RBTs have shared stories of demanding clinic environments, including long hours and limited support. Instances of RBTs working with multiple kids with profound needs, with little supervision, are not uncommon. The impact of these conditions can lead to fatigue, stress, and sometimes doubt about one's path in the field. RBTs, If This Sounds Familiar, This Message is For You! ✉️ This should not be your reality. Your biggest support system should be more than just fellow struggling RBTs helping you "just make it through the day." It genuinely breaks my heart to hear these stories. Many RBTs & Behavior Techs think this is all our industry has to offer, leading to a broader struggle in finding committed clinicians. If this perception continues, and RBTs can only expect this level of "support," it's no wonder many are hesitant to take on 1-on-1 in-home sessions. Here's Some Hope and Encouragement 🌟 RBTs, please know that good companies are out there! Don't settle for suboptimal work environments and conditions. Ask the right questions, seek supportive clinical teams (even if it's at another company), and understand that there ARE better ways to make a meaningful impact in your clients' lives. You will not prescribe medicine. These evaluations are so that the patient can continue to receive their disability benefits. Each evaluation takes roughly 40min-1hr, and that includes documenting their responses and any notes you may have. If charting takes longer, we can negotiate extra compensation. There are no clinical care requirements. You will not be their primary care provider. Location: Patients will be seen at an offsite medical facility, a doctors office, that will be close to you or within a reasonable driving distance up to 50 miles. Schedule: Patients are only scheduled when you are available. You will coordinate your schedule with a Scheduler. Credentialing : Credentialing usually takes up to 7-10 days once you have sent in and completed all documentation and assessments.
