𝐓𝐚𝐭𝐚 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐛𝐮𝐜𝐤𝐬 𝐚𝐢𝐦𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞 1,000 𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐞𝐬 𝐛𝐲 2028 According to a report, the Coffeehouse chain Starbucks aims to operate 1,000 stores in India by 2028, or one new store opening every three days. The strategy focuses on skilling local partners for jobs, opening new stores that serve customers with an elevated experience, and promoting Indian-origin coffee to Starbucks customers around the world, the company said. The new goal aligns with Starbucks long-term triple shot reinvention strategy which will focus on three priorities: elevating the Starbucks brand; strengthening the company’s digital capabilities; and becoming truly global; customized with ‘two pumps’ unlocking efficiency and reinvigorating partner culture. Starbucks-branded coffee chain in India is operated by a 50:50 joint venture between Starbucks Coffee Company and Tata Consumer Products Limited. Since 2012, Tata Starbucks, has opened over 390 stores across 54 Indian cities, with approximately 4,300 employees. #firstlease #fl #starbucks #TataStarbucks #CoffeeExpansion #coffee #digitaltransformation #commercialrealestate #india #coffeeBrand #TataConsumerProducts #CoffeeJointVenture #retailexpansion #Starbucks #tata #retailspace 𝐑𝐞𝐚𝐝 𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐞 https://lnkd.in/gpPXEJZE

Who in their right mind would spend 300 rupees on a cup of coffee? Do you feel the same? 🤔 Let’s get a deeper perspective on this… While some may praise saving such an amount as an economical choice, the value of a purchase extends beyond just the initial transaction. So let's take a closer look at a café like Starbucks, which sells coffee at a premium price. Consider their infrastructure, for instance… They provide air-conditioned cafés with comfortable seating and ample workspace. Amenities like charging stations near tables and complimentary Wi-Fi which enhances productivity. How do they finance such infrastructure? From you… Now, onto the service… Personally, I've never waited in line at Starbucks for more than two minutes to place my order (except during the initial reopening post the first COVID-19 lockdown) If you're unsatisfied with your drink which they had suggested, they'll gladly replace it with a new drink of your choice (I've experienced this firsthand) Additionally, they offer free unlimited refills on their core beverages at select stores in Mumbai, which is normal in their US stores. This may expand in the future. How do they fund this sunk cost? From you… Finally, let's address brand equity… People may buy just one coffee but end up posting about it twice. Building such brand loyalty didn't happen overnight; it required significant investment. Just like a stock feels expensive at high P/E ratios, Starbucks is valued highly today due to its strong brand equity. Never disregard the value of an expensive item; if its price were artificially inflated, it wouldn't sustain in the long run. In products like these, intangible value holds significant weight, which you cannot spot just via numbers. Tried to go a bit outside finance here.
