A very interesting study was just published using multiple 'omics' to uncover protein targets for cancer therapy (1,043 patients across 10 cancer types). Plasma proteomics was omitted though 🤔 In 19 druggable genes, there was not a statistically significant positive association between tissue mRNA and protein expression. Turns out these genes were predominantly secreted proteins. Seer's Protein Discovery Catalog (https://lnkd.in/gy8TErme) shows that most of the 19 druggable proteins have been detected in plasma using the technology. If their gene expression levels positively correlate with plasma protein levels, they would not only be interesting drug targets, but ones that could be measured non-invasively!!
