Honoring the Brave on Memorial Day Today, we pause to remember and honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country. Their courage and dedication ensure the freedoms we enjoy every day. At Vets Who Code, we carry forward the legacy of these heroes by empowering veterans to transition from military service to impactful careers in technology. Our mission is not just about coding; it's about providing veterans with the tools to thrive in a new battlefield—the tech industry. The memories of those who have fallen inspire us to work harder, ensuring that no veteran is left behind. Veterans bring unmatched discipline, problem-solving skills, and a unique perspective to tech. By bridging the gap between military service and the tech world, we ensure that their contributions continue to shape and secure our future. Let’s take a moment today to honor the fallen and support the living. If you know a veteran or military spouse looking to start a career in tech, connect them with Vets Who Code. Together, we can build a future that honors their past sacrifices. #MemorialDay #VetsWhoCode #VeteransInTech #HonorTheFallen #NeverForget

US Navy Veteran | A Proven Leader Experienced in Optimizing Teams & Processes for Impactful Growth | Data-Driven Results | Project Management
Lets face it, choosing a SkillBridge program can be daunting. The DoD web site is clunky and doesn't offer much insight to the roughly 4850 options you can filter through. There is no one right answer as to which one is the best. That's a personal choice dependent on your situation and what path you want to take post-military. Here's why I chose Allegiant Vets: 1. Access to a vast community of vets at all stages of transition to network and learn from. The Discord has channels dedicated to VA support, job fairs, education and self care just to name a few. 2. Participation in an encouraging environment. 3. Various learning paths to choose from and the ability to change course if you find it isn't for you. 4. The flexibility to participate from my home anywhere in the world and I make my schedule. 5. Am able to start and finish my SkillBridge with AV on my timeline and am not dependent on a cohort. 6. The freedom to apply to any company or entity I want vice relying on only a possibility of interviewing and getting hired at a company I had just interned for 3 months with. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions regarding my experience so far. AV Web Site Link: https://lnkd.in/efzAdWQb

Waypoint Vets is uniting and empowering veterans through activities and adventure! 💛🖤 Marcus also said, “No matter your branch of service, No matter your rank or military experiences (good or bad) It will change your life. I was a bit uncertain what to expect, but I went into it with an open mind and came out the other side with memories and friends that I will cherish for the rest of my life.” For more information about our mission, go to www.waypointvets.org. #WaypointVets #HonorTheFallen

My newest acquisition: the 1934 "Kriegsspiel Fibel" (Wargame Reader). A concise book containing scenarios for what we would call today "tactical decisions games", on infantry platoon and company level. It is meant to guide the facilitator and provides him with requisite questions and answers. Thanks to Jan Heinemann for discovering this find. #wargame #tacticaldecisiongames #Kriegsspiel

Getting ghosted? Let's talk about it. Starting with, I.. Have/haven't -vs- Will/won't -vs- Can/can't 3 different things. It's worth figuring out. Just like I tell people transitioning out of the military or a federal agency or possibly pivoting into a new field... What's translatable/transferable? If you understand the work you're hoping to do, try to relate your experience to it. I feel like this could turn into a series. #CareerJourney #TalkAboutIt

Innovation Expert @ Innovatrium | Human Capitalist🟢🔵, Chief Courage Officer | Systematizing Quality and Innovation | PhD Aerospace
Cohort 12 is off to a strong start. And possibly the first time I've been quoted back to myself so quickly! "If you feel like the situation is prepared for your innovation, you're too late." At mercury, we learn by doing, with a minimum of orientation or lecture - we jump in and get our hands on collaboration and teaming and use alumni coaches to adjust, give guidance, and monitor performance along the way. Rapid, personalized feedback, and new mental models for how to communicate, navigate bureaucracy, and engage creative 'flow' in teams - these are among the skills that are developed and honed over 13 weeks of deliberate practice.
During the #Cohort12 jumpstart, members (Kimberly Dickman, Danny Mckenzie, Matt Evers, CLTD, Freya Slocumb, David Eckstein, @Michael Junkins, and NATO Coach @Ralph Peter) discuss some key learnings and takeaways so far. "There are barriers on the track, but no one is telling you which way to go, but the barriers are there to keep you from falling off. It provides a solid framework while allowing you to freely think, connect with others, and understand different perspectives" - Danny McKenzie, British Army Thanks to everyone in Cohort 12 for facing ambiguity head on! #ambiguity #innovation #growthmindset

The Human Services CMO - Blending mission-driven marketing expertise with a deep understanding of the sector's unique challenges and opportunities to amplify impact and stimulate growth
This is such an important post for all #humanservices executives! While digital strategies often dominate the conversation, I've always stressed the impact of out-of-home (#OOH) advertising as a brand vehicle. The influence of an OOH campaign extends far beyond traditional lead-gen metrics, as it has the potential to shape your organizational culture in ways that are both profound and uplifting. Consider this: Your staff, donors, the individuals you support, their caregivers, and the broader community—including prospective staff and future donors—all are impacted by seeing your message displayed so prominently. It's more than just a billboard or a kiosk; it's a feeling of pride that underscores that the work we are doing is important and valued. And best of all...if it's done right your stakeholders will share it and further expand your reach! OOH can mean a host of things from billboards to street kiosks to bus and train wraps. We're now looking at opportunities to pursue OOH at Incompass Human Services, and I am excited to showcase the brand on a larger stage!
