Today, Joey Tompkins, INDUS Technology's Sr. Manager of Talent Acquisition & Development, spoke on a panel hosted by San Diego Cyber Center of Excellence (CCOE) and ISACA San Diego, alongside Yadira Ruiz from the San Diego Workforce Partnership and Sang Nguyen from the San Diego Regional Economic Development Corporation. The panel discussed topics ranging from the current state of the cybersecurity workforce in San Diego, findings from the recently released EDC/CCOE study, the San Diego Workforce Partnership's CyberHire program, talent diversity in cybersecurity, and in-demand skill sets employers seek. Despite challenging reports that the FBI identified a 150% increase in cybercrime complaints and $37.4B in losses over the last 5 years, there is hope in San Diego. America's Finest City is leading the charge in cyber. More than 1,000 local cyber firms and organizations like NAVWAR account for more than 26,000 jobs and an economic impact of $4B annually. INDUS is proud to be one of the organizations working cohesively to advance new technologies, fortify critical IT infrastructure, and defend the digital landscape. Thank you also to National University for hosting this panel, and to Brendan Daly for moderating the dynamic discussion.
