Reliability Engineer | Getting Ahead of the Game with Predictive Maintenance and Proactive Solutions | Minimizing Downtime, Maximizing Performance | Transforming Reliability into Profitability
There are times when engineers do not decide on mechanical parts. It was chosen due to economical savings, without good clarification. Or placed on the technician to choose because someone needed an answer. It leads to costly downtime, everything from filters to motors is crucial to make the machines run. The Storeroom is a great place for reliability to learn about a plant's methodology. When the Storeroom standardizes a product for maintenance, on a machine, without change, it's simpler to write protocols for maintenance. When that product discontinues, is when the engineer needs to be involved in the next product selection. Usually, though, this is made in haste and the selection is placed on the storeroom or the technician for decisions. Attached is a specific procedure written for disc couplings, when the storeroom falls into standardization it allows for specific protocols to be written, which allows maintenance to gain clarity on product installation and become experts in installing it. When the storeroom has a symbiotic relationship with reliability, clarity for maintenance technicians is found.

Investing in top-notch packing equipment is a game-changer for your operations. But are you getting the most out of it? Here are some simple maintenance tips to ensure your equipment's lifespan and efficiency: - Keep your equipment clean after each use with a 'blow out' routine. - Turn off your equipment post-operation to conserve power and prevent overheating. - Warm up your equipment before each run to ensure optimal performance. - Clean removable parts regularly with a degreaser, especially for citrus packers. And maybe most importantly - only allow certified electrical-trained service techs to work with the electrical supply for your equipment! Get an in-depth version of different tips for specific machines such as Newtec weighers and Fox Solutions Wicketed Baggers all in our article here. ➡️ https://hubs.ly/Q02np_Yx0

Most people are going on holiday now. For admins and technicians in many places the yearly or semi-annual maintenance window-marathon starts. Many updates are still risky or cannot be done without downtime and therefore are postponed to the mid and end of year maintenance that is still common in more traditional manufacturing industries.

Mechanical Engineering technician | Safety officer | maintenance and repair | OSHA | ISO45001 | NEBOSH .
Are you trapped in reactive maintenance? Your company maintenance work is purely reactive and does not pursue any strategy if: 1. Required spare parts are not in stock and nobody knows 2. You will be interviewed every morning at the production meeting after the last shift and the last unplanned machine outages 3. Reduces the useful life of the machines and increases downtime 4. Employees performing maintenance are poorly trained and maintenance is poorly prepared, with high turnover in the maintenance department 5. The maintenance eliminates disturbances but avoids disturbances permanently 6. I he dally, weekly, monthly and all other maintenance and inspections are not carried out regularly 7. The production makes their problems to problems of maintenance #mechanical #enginnering #Maintenance

Maintenance engineers can MAKE or BREAK your operations… …because the success or failure of your operations depends on the decisions of your maintenance engineers. Their approach can significantly impact machine reliability, downtime, and overall efficiency. 2 MAIN APPROACHES > Reactive maintenance: Equipment is repaired after a breakdown leading to breakdown, increased costs, and potential damage. >Preventive maintenance: Scheduling inspections, servicing, and repairs to prevent breakdowns, and reduce downtime. This improves efficiency and extends machine life. In a manufacturing environment, Reactive maintenance can lead to unplanned breakdowns of critical machinery. Which leads to shutdown and significant losses. Regular inspections catch minor issues before they become major problems, ensuring smooth operations. Maintenance engineers need to understand the delicate balance between cost and reliability. Although preventive maintenance is costlier upfront, it minimizes losses in the long run. What preventive actions do you take at your plant?
