*️⃣In Revit, both Coordination Review and Interference Check are essential tools for ensuring the accuracy and consistency of building information models (BIM). While they share some similarities, they serve distinct purposes and have different workflows:-⬇️ *Coordination Review:* *️⃣Purpose: To review and manage clashes between different disciplines (e.g., architecture, structure, MEP) in a coordinated model. *️⃣Workflow:- 1. Link relevant models from different disciplines into a single Revit file. 2. Run the Coordination Review tool to identify clashes and potential issues. 3. Review and resolve clashes, and update the models accordingly. 4. Repeat the process until all clashes are resolved. *Postpone: Opt to review the issue later. *Reject: Reject the change and keep the original model element and current condition. *Accept: Accept the change and update the model accordingly. *Comment: Add comments as per your output for further clarification or notes. *Save Actions: After actioning each issue, click OK to save your actions. *Generate Report: Generate a report for future by clicking on the Export Report button in the Coordination Review dialog. *️⃣ *Interference Check:* Purpose: To detect and report physical intersections or interferences between elements within a single model or between linked models. Workflow:- 1. Select the elements or categories to check for interferences. 2. Run the Interference Check tool to identify intersecting elements. 3. Review the results and resolve interferences by modifying or moving elements. 4. Repeat the process as needed to ensure no interferences exist. Key differences:- *️⃣ Coordination Review focuses on interdisciplinary clashes, while Interference Check focuses on physical interferences within a single model or between linked models. *️⃣Coordination Review requires linked models from different disciplines, while Interference Check can be run on a single model or multiple linked models. By leveraging both tools, you can ensure a more comprehensive and accurate BIM, reducing errors and potential on-site issues. #revit #workflow #coordination #review #interference #bim #3D #model #link #post #software #collaboration #thanks #aecom

💡 Considering whether to hire a full-time Revit specialist or outsource Revit tasks as needed? 🏗️ Here are some thoughts: 🔍 Full-Time Revit Specialist: Hiring an in-house Revit expert will ensure dedicated support for ongoing projects. They provide consistent availability and familiarity with your company's standards. ✅ Pros: 1️⃣ Immediate Accessibility: Always available for urgent tasks. 2️⃣ Company Familiarity: Understanding with company projects and standards. ❌ Cons: 1️⃣ Cost: Full-time salaries, benefits, and training expenses. 2️⃣ Workload Variability: May lead to underutilization during slower periods. 🌐 Outsourcing Revit Tasks: Engaging external Revit specialists offers flexibility and can be cost-effective for specific projects or peak workloads. ✅ Pros: 1️⃣ Flexibility: Scale resources based on project demands. 2️⃣ Cost Efficiency: Pay for services rendered, reducing fixed overhead. 3️⃣ Diverse Expertise: Access to a wider range of skills and experience. ❌ Cons: 1️⃣ Quality Control: Requires clear communication and oversight. 2️⃣ Time Management: Dependence on external schedules and availability. 🤔Points to ponder: The decision depends on your firm's specific needs and project pipeline. For consistent demand and long-term projects, a full-time specialist may be ideal. However, for variable workloads or specialized tasks, outsourcing can provide agility and cost-efficiency. What's your take on this? Share your insights! 👷♂️ #Revit #Architecture #Engineering #CAD #Design #Outsourcing #Inhouse

🏗️ Revit Modeling Showcase: Truss Design Using Adaptive Families and Mass Exercises 👷♂️ As a passionate BIM modeler, I recently had the opportunity to delve into the intricate world of truss design using Revit. Leveraging adaptive families and mass exercises, I was able to create a robust and efficient truss structure that not only met design specifications but also optimized for performance and constructability. 📐 Adaptive Families: These versatile components allowed me to create a flexible truss system that adapts to various design scenarios. By defining parametric relationships, I could easily adjust dimensions and configurations, ensuring the truss met specific project requirements without compromising on integrity. 🏗️ Mass Exercises: Using mass exercises, I simulated the structural behavior of the truss within the Revit environment. This step was crucial in validating the design's structural stability and identifying any potential issues early in the process. It also provided valuable insights into the truss's load-bearing capacity and overall performance. 🤝 Let's Connect: If you're interested in discussing BIM, structural design, or anything related to the construction industry, feel free to reach out! I'm always open to connecting with like-minded professionals.

2 Linked in posts in as many days! REVIT TIP! Did you know, you can create an on "Hold" Revit revision? Its super easy, Go to the revision manager. Create a new "Custom Numbering" type, Use Alphanumeric, Set the suffix to "OLD" Then use these H's as your custom sequences! H, Ḣ, Ḧ Having multiple H's avoids HHOLD if you end up with more than one hold revision on a sheet. Why would that ever happen right?? :) Now, when your item/s are ready to be taken off hold, you can just change the revision to the current bulletin, or just rename the "On Hold" revision to a real bulletin and change the numbering back to "Numeric" easy and parametric! Are you a Revit Savy Architect or Engineer and looking for a change? SSOE is always on the lookout for people just like you! Head on over to SSOE Group https://lnkd.in/g9HMYxy5 and tell them Sean sent you! :)
