What an intense 3 days spent with the Newton cohort!! Lots of conversations, incredible learnings, and reconnecting with colleagues turned friends. The sessions on Value Creation by Christian Rangen & Tiffany Bain, and Principles of Influence by Niro Sivanathan were very thought-provoking. Followed by the board room simulation where we saw how influence plays out in real-time in board meetings and its impact on decision-making. Left that exercise with more questions than answers but that's where the learning happens (I hope😄). Look forward to digging into the reading materials further, and excited for Module 3!! #NVPxLBS03

🌟 Reflecting on an engaging WTMC Workshop! 🌟 This week, I participated in the WTMC spring workshop, where we explored the thought-provoking theme of "Endangered Futures." 🔍 We examined this topic from an STS perspective, engaging in critical discussions and exercises aimed at understanding how STS scholarship on 'futures' can serve as a dynamic intermediary in a world fraught with tensions. One particularly engaging exercise involved me getting hands-on with Lego and exploring the concept of action research. 🧱 It was a creative and insightful way to delve into the complexities of our topic, sparking innovative ideas and discussions.

Bluffton University was one of only a handful of Mennonite/Brethren universities when I was working at Eastern Mennonite University. Sounds like there will be one less after this year. "With the unanimous support of our respective Boards of Trustees, The University of Findlay and Bluffton University have entered an agreement to pursue a merger of Bluffton University operations with University of Findlay. Findlay and Bluffton would become one higher education community on two campuses, pending all regulatory approvals,. This decision signals a bold vision for our shared future. University of Findlay and Bluffton University share similar roots as institutions founded in Christian faith and are welcoming to all. Both institutions believe in cultivating communities of respect. Through this merger, University of Findlay and Bluffton University would be positioned to increase educational opportunities that prepare our current and future students to lead and serve in their local communities and beyond. Our students and employees would benefit from access to expanded resources on both campuses located 20 miles apart in Northwest Ohio. This is a transformational moment for both Findlay and Bluffton. We are confident that our strong roots and enduring values will ground us in the face of change. We see a brighter future ahead — one where University of Findlay and Bluffton University would establish an even stronger premier institution of higher education in Northwest Ohio." https://lnkd.in/gMPjMmen
