In the next Arabian Robotics and ROS Meetup, I will discuss recent developments in autonomous racing competitions, with a focus on two key papers: the survey paper "Autonomous Vehicles on the Edge: A Survey on Autonomous Vehicle Racing," and TUM's autonomous racing software architecture, "TUM Autonomous Motorsport: An Autonomous Racing Software for the Indy Autonomous Challenge," Betz et al. in 2022.

During yesterdays session 'Steering Success: Tackling Autonomous Vehicle Integration in Urban Transportation' at the Autonomy Mobility World Expo in Paris- moderated by Guido Di Pasquale from PAVE Europe - the key challenge was best summarised by Nathalie Teer from tech company EasyMile These are also exactly the questions we ask ourselves as regional public authority how, where and when it can solve issues and challenges in our public transport system and what is needed to create breakthroughs and large scale implementation. Obviously without a business case nothing happens. The discussion in this session confirmed we need to speed up our efforts as regions and cities in Europe to make it happen.

Earlier this month, I was in Tallinn to make this super cool SwipeGuide customer story about Auve Tech 🚌 They make these - according to me: very adorable - autonomous electric buses that drive people around cities across Europe, Asia, the US, and Middle East.
