The second-most played sport in the world is taking over America. According to USA Cricket, more than 400 leagues have opened in America, with over 200,000 players and counting. If BCCI is not top on its game, USA may soon dominate cricket as well. It's a sunrise sector for USA, unlike baseball or football which is already saturated sector. #USA #Cricket #USAinCricket #USAcricket #T20

Unveiling the Dominant Test Cricket Bowlers Since 1970! I've curated a fascinating plot showcasing the best bowlers in Test cricket since 1970. The graph highlights players who have not only maintained an exceptional bowling average (Avg < 30) but are also attacking, with a strike rate below 50. The lesser the better in both cases. Some great names in there. Who's your favorite test bowler? P.S Malcolm Marshall stands out, for his exceptional strike rate in the 1980s, when batsmen were more defensive than the current era. #cricket #sportsanalytics #sports #ipl #bowling #eda #datavisualization

Pivoted thrice and we are still improvising it. 1. Post COVID, didn't solely depend on sports travel, we have started cricket leagues too. 2. Hosting all cricket leagues was not easy, so focused on only box cricket. I understand the major chunk of the amount comes from leather ball cricket, but as we all have learned, better to start focusing from 1 and more on to next. 3. Started managing our own sports venues. it's true, only leagues won't make it big, additional revenues are always needed. #sports #venues #arenas #leagues #cricket

Great article here about the growth of Cricket in the US - mainly dominated by the rest of the world, cricket is the 2nd most popular sport in the world (only trailed by soccer/futbol)! Especially with the US making some noise in the T20 tournament, I can't wait to see how it grows in the States! When do you think it will become a school sport in most Middle and High Schools in the US?
Cricket growing across the US 🏏 🇺🇸 In 2023, the U.S. kicked off Major League Cricket for the first time with professional teams in Dallas, New York, LA, San Francisco, Seattle, and Washington, D.C. According to USA Cricket, the sport's governing body, there are more than 400 leagues across the country, from youth leagues to semi-pro ones, with a grand total of 200,000 players and counting. This year is also the first year the T20 Cricket World Cup is being hosted in the United States, and it's doing big things for the game and culture alike. #YouthSports #Sportsbiz #LinkedInSports #YouthSportsBiz #Cricket via: Dan Grossman WPTV

Origin of Cricket: A Brief History: Nex News Network: Eps-11 www.nexnews.org Cricket, believed to have originated in the southeastern region of England, specifically Kent and Sussex, traces its documented history back to the late 16th century. While there are various theories surrounding its inception, the earliest written reference dates back to the end of the 16th century. Some speculate its roots in France or Flanders, with the first known mention in 1300 when future King Edward II played "creag and other games" in Westminster and Newenden. The term "creag" possibly evolved into "cricket," though experts suggest it initially meant "merriment and play." Initially a children's game, cricket gradually gained popularity among adults in the early 17th century. The game likely evolved from ball games, with bowlers attempting to prevent batsmen from hitting the ball towards their target. Early equipment included a sheep's woolen ball, possibly a shepherd's crook or a small wooden piece as a bat, and a paddock or a tree stump as a wicket. #CricketHistory #CricketOrigins #SportsHistory #EnglandSports #Kent #Sussex #KingEdwardII #MedievalGames #SportingHeritage #BritishSports #GameEvolution #HistoricalSports #EarlyCricket #CricketEvolution #BatandBall #SportsOrigins #VintageSports #ChildrensGames #SportsDevelopment #AthleticTraditions #MerrimentandPlay

#IPL can potentially destroy #Cricket! Cricket thrives on balance, where both #batsmen and #bowlers shine. However, the IPL's recent matches often resemble a nightmare for bowlers, with batsmen dominating and 200+ scores becoming a routine. This imbalance risks dampening interest in bowling, discouraging aspiring cricketers from pursuing it. If things go this way, in the future human bowlers will be replaced by bowling machines used in net practices! With #pitches favoring the batsmen, even #balls used in the game favor them. Experts believe that the #Kookaburra balls exclusively used in the tournament, don't provide necessary help to the bowlers. Calls to switch to Duke balls, which provide better lateral movement, and support the bowlers, have gone unheeded. Everyone cheers on a Six! Another major issue is the IPL's reliance on the #ImpactPlayer rule has inadvertently marginalized all-rounders. Teams now lean heavily on specialized batsmen and bowlers, sidelining the versatile role of all-rounders, which was once integral to team dynamics. Furthermore, the #saturation of cricket due to the IPL's proliferation is a concern that cannot be ignored. The relentless schedule has diluted the novelty and excitement of the sport, potentially leading to viewer fatigue. By the way, do you know, that IPL doesn't pay any #IncomeTax, justified in courts under the banner of promoting #sports! In essence, while the IPL has undeniably transformed cricket, its unchecked trajectory threatens to disrupt the delicate equilibrium that makes the sport so captivating. Stakeholders must address these issues to ensure the long-term sustainability and integrity of the game, but currently, it seems, that only #MoneyMatters!

No management lesson from this post😀. #SundayThoughts #Euro2024 1. Why is there an increase in low-scoring, extra time, and penalty shootout matches? I observed that the era of star strikers has gone. No star striker, No desperation for goals, and the result is what I'm questioning. 2. Impact players have replaced the star strikers. 3. Some teams do have star strikers, but they are in the last leg of their careers. 4. Every big tournament used to produce a sensational player. It seems there's no sensation from Euro 2024. 5. In my opinion, this is the all-time lowest for midfielders. There's no magic of football coming from midfield. 6. Paul Pogba matters.
