The balance between #customization and #industrialization is (maybe) not so hard to find! ☀ At #EUBuildings strategy day, organized by SolarPower Europe and SEAMLESS-PV Project, Laura Maturi from Eurac Research discussed the crucial collaboration between the building industry and PV industry and their different needs. 🏗 While mass market production is possible only through industrialization, aesthetically pleasing and successful PV building integration can only be achieved through some customization. 👉 A great collaboration example is INFINITE project, with SUNAGE, IPV manufacturer, and RUBNER, a wood building construction company, working together to develop a new integrated solution. 👉 Another example is #NEST, thanks to which Institute for Renewable Energy – Eurac Research is developing facilities to support IPV manufacturers with PV customization. #PVcustomization #bipv #buildingrenovation

We made it to the final round! SwRI in collaboration with Idealab/CSP Innovators advanced to the final round of the American Made Heliostat Challenge. The Department of Energy - Office of Solar Energy Technologies selected six teams from the initial 40 to compete in the final round of the challenge with a total of $3 million in cash prizes that will be split among up to three winners. The Heliostat prize is driving innovation from concept to design to the development of a prototype of cutting-edge new heliostat technology. A heliostat is a device that includes a mirror able to produce concentrated solar power or electricity by continuously moving with the sun to reflect sunlight. In this round, the Idealab/CSP Innovators/SwRI team will develop a low-cost, high-durability heliostat made from precision-cast concrete. https://lnkd.in/dYntMQ56
