Infinite Legacy had the exciting opportunity to lead a plenary session about our organ donation education curriculum at Charles Hart Middle School during the Association of Organ Procurement Organizations (AOPO) Annual Meeting! To learn more, visit donatelifeacademy.org. #AOPOAM24
Yesterday was a successful day at the AOPO Annual Meeting, filled with valuable networking and the exchange of effective practices among OPOs and our partners. Our sessions covered crucial topics such as enhancing hospital referral programs, organ assessment and utilization, supporting donor families in their grief, improving authorization rates, optimizing OPO staffing efficiency, educating younger generations, and advancing organ preservation. Highlights included the AOPO OPO IMPACT Program plenary, where OPO leaders shared their experiences and the concrete changes implemented through the assessment process, driving meaningful performance improvements. We were also thrilled to welcome Ieesha J. from Infinite Legacy and Charlette Butler- Strickland, Principal of Charles Hart Middle School. Their session, ‘Empowering Future Healers: A Comprehensive Approach to Early Engagement in Organ Donation and Transplantation Careers among Young Black Learners,’ provided inspiring insights into our initiatives for engaging youth in our field. We’re excited to continue connecting, learning, and empowering professionals in the donation and transplantation field. Stay tuned for more updates from our meeting! #AOPOAM24
