Our #CTSCCLEHealth Director of Evaluation, Dr. Clara M. Pelfrey, and Dr. Deborah DiazGranados, Director of Evaluation at VCU C. Kenneth and Dianne Wright Center for Clinical and Translational Research, along with their colleagues are co-leading a national CTSA Working Group focused on 'Learning about the science of translation: Identifying best practices to accelerate the translational process through case studies'. The workgroup will conduct a comparative analysis of many kinds of successful translational science case studies.   The purpose of this collaboration is to generate new knowledge about the nature of the translational process by investigating and comparing successful translational science cases that have led to positive impacts on human health. 📍"Equally important to doing science is communicating it. Talking to people who are ‘in our field’ during scientific meeting offers an extra opportunity to grow! Not only are we moved to think how to put our research in a larger context (which we often miss when dwelling into specific question and experimental details), but we also make a room to auto-review what we have done so far and think how the results fit together and what is missing. A feedback received from other scientists, such as, for example, novel ways to address our question or an unthought explanations of our results is extremely precious and motivating. 🇸🇪 The journey from cutting-edge research to clinical treatments is a story of collaboration, innovation, and vision. This year's #Almedalen2023 event, co-hosted by Lund University and Skånes universitetssjukhus (Skåne University Hospital), explored how Sweden's pioneering research can blossom into advanced therapies that shape the future of healthcare. During the event, researchers, industry leaders, and a patient who benefited from #genetherapy discussed how research-based development and collaboration can enhance #Sweden's competitive edge in advancing therapies based on cells, genes, and tissues. These therapies have the potential to change how we treat diseases and improve patient outcomes. One of the many highlights of the event was Professor Anna Falk's demonstration of the #ATMP (Advanced Therapy Medicinal Products) development pipeline using an innovative combination of Legos and tomatoes. Her demonstration brought to life how every stage in the development journey and every partner involved contributes to the eventual realization of advanced therapies that can treat patients in need. The Fondation Yves Cotrel - Institut de France has been supporting international research since its creation in 1999. To date, 80 research projects have been / are still being carried out throughout the world : abolition of borders and disciplines, leading to fruitful transversality, organization of annual meetings encouraging researchers to share their progress...   The Cotrel foundation plays a major role in fundamental research on scoliosis, both on its own and through a partnership with the Scoliosis Research Society. Thanks to the research already carried out, and even though causes are still unknown, a better understanding has already led to changes in patient management.
