How to RAPID FIRE any collection of sounds in PT in less than 20 seconds:
This tip comes off the heels of a recent post from Randy Thom about how a rolling object can be simulated by a series of very tightly packed impacts.
I thought I'd detail how I can very quickly build a rapid fire of some chop stick transients that I recorded.
#1. Strip Silence (Cmd + U) your transients to all have an equal amount of Start and End Padding. In my case I used 17ms Before and 35ms After. Make sure you get the threshold set correctly.
#2. Space Clips (Opt + Shift + H) with your preferred amount of spacing between each clip. I chose 1ms for this example to give you a very rapid fire rate.
Behold the rapid fire beauty. Now you can take this sound and twist, mangle, doppler, pitch it to come up with some very cool creations. Anybody else have a similar/different way of doing this?
