Today, I'm thrilled to celebrate my 6-month work anniversary as Finance Manager at Finnet Media ! My journey with the organization began 3 years ago as a rookie in the finance department. As one of the initial team members, I've had the opportunity to work beyond my finance role boundaries, gaining diverse experiences and developing new skills. Key takeaways from my time here: - Quality Outputs within Deadlines are key: I ve learned to produce quality output within deadline rather than just getting things done. - Focusing on the next goal: I've learned to stay focused on what's ahead, to 'tighten my helmet when the war is over' and prepare for the next challenge. This mindset has helped me stay driven and motivated, even after achieving a goal. - Teamwork makes the dream work: Being part of a cohesive unit has taught me the value of collaboration, organization culture, and support. I'm grateful for the trust and support I've received from my colleagues and leaders. Special thanks to: Ayush Shukla , our CEO (and my old school friend!), for showing me that personal and professional boundaries can coexist in perfect harmony Ayush Monga , Ojaswini Bharti , Ritu Maurya , Siddharth Ostwal , Sandeep Gupta , Garima Gupta, Shruti Garg for being constant sources of encouragement and guidance throughout! Here's to many more months of learning, growing, and achieving together! #FinanceManager #workanniversary #growthjourney #teamwork #influencermarketing #learninganddevelopment

Started working at Newedge finance exactly a year ago.In that one year I have laughed, been excited, learnt, questioned myself and grown. I am definitely so proud of who I have become. From working with customer experience :Quality assurance(auditing calls and social media interactions ), contact centre(making calls myself and answering customers first hand), to Projects , then to working with strategy and innovation (starting a branch from the scratch, organizing events and telling people first hand who we are as well as managing several projects). Working with diverse teams has helped me hone some of my skills and pick up new ones. Here are ten lessons I have learnt on this job that I would love to share:-Customers are king: They are the reason we do what we do and their needs and satisfaction is to be prioritized-Ask questions: Being inquisitive will do you a lot of good, it makes it easier for one to discharge their duties effectively-Never think of yourself as too small: You are enough and there is a reason you are currently where you are, so never think less of yourself-Continue to learn and develop yourself :The world is ever changing, read that book, take that course, and learn from your colleagues-Hold yourself accountable but never beat yourself up: You should take responsibility for your actions but while at that never dwell on your mistakes-The numbers matter: Use numbers to track your progress at work and to know where you are defaulting so you fix up-Always know when it is time to rest and recharge: You need to find balance and take regular breaks to avoid burnout-Be kind: Always ensure you leave people better than you met them and be empathetic.-Do your duties diligently: Always strive to do your duties diligently and respect everyone while at it-Collaborate: Team work makes the dream work, never isolate yourself from othersI am extremely grateful for my bosses Khafil Animashaun Daphne Akatugba who have given me an avenue to discover more about myself while working on several projects. My incredible managers at work whose leading and directions have made work easy, my incredible colleagues Felicia Alamu Adedolapo Aderoju and so many others for being the best colleagues one could ask for.Indeed this has been a journey, one of several highs and lows.Let’s see what the second year holds!🚀

What an incredible Massmart Finance Career week it has been! A huge thank you to our CFO Jonathan Collins as well as Charushka Nukanna-Janse Van Rensburg CA (SA), LLB for orchestrating such an enriching experience. Reflecting on the week, I've distilled my top three takeaways: 1. Invest in Yourself 😀 : It's essential to recognize that your personal and professional development is primarily your responsibility. Whether it's acquiring new skills, seeking mentorship, or pursuing further education, dedicating resources to self-improvement is key to long-term success. 2. Embrace Networking 🗣 : The significance of networking cannot be overstated. Building genuine connections with peers, mentors, and industry professionals not only expands your opportunities but also enriches your perspective and knowledge base. Remember, relationships are the cornerstone of a thriving career. 3. Be Courageous & Vulnerable 💜 : As we navigate our career paths, it's crucial to embrace vulnerability and courage. Being open to taking calculated risks, admitting uncertainties, and seeking feedback fosters growth and resilience. It's through vulnerability that we often find our greatest strengths. As the week draws to a close, I find myself filled with renewed energy and excitement for the journey ahead. Here's to seizing opportunities, fostering connections, and continuing to grow! #MakingBetterPossible #MMFinCareerWeek2024 #Massmart

It's #TGIF guys💃✌️😁. Let me share this with you today: An Unforgettable experience I had in my career/skill as a Financial Analyst/Executive. Working as a Financial Analyst/Executive can be quite challenging because it's all about bringing what you've learnt in class while in school or any online training you had to real life practice. And I believe we all know that theory is totally different from practice. I had (have - still currently having) some experiences working as Financial Analyst. Some of them are Ability to influence teams and learn to be able to use the latest tools, Reconciliation of datas, Dealing with large sets of data, Time management, Having good communication skills and more. One of the experiences I've had is in the aspects of Communication. We all know that Communication is very important in everything we do, even as an individual. It cuts across every aspects of one's life. There was a time we had a new employee in my office, and I was told to put her through some things I've been working on. It was a little bit challenging because she was a complete newbie and explaining all the things I do, the data, how it works, etc was not easy, but I was able to. I had to do some things to make her learning process easy, make her understand what I'm saying and also, how I will be able to communicate to her effectively. Here are the things I did: 📌 First things first, I had to calm down and not rush the teaching process with her. 📌 Understand the effective way of communicating with her/learning process. Is it verbally or practically(showing her while I explain). 📌 Ask her if she understands what I'm explaining to her. 📌 Also, I personally worked( still working) on myself to learn and know how to communicate with people effectively because it is an essential skill needed by everyone. Doing all the above points really helped me out with the new employee in learning on the job and all. I will appreciate you all share your experiences with me as well regarding your skill or business in the comment section so we all learn together. Thank you ☺️. #21daysLCBchallenge #day5 #CommunicationSkill #FinancialAnalystExecutive.
