Have you ever made a video before turning on any cameras? That’s what we did for Brother Sewing Machines Europe GmbH We created the entire video for the launch of their latest embroidery machine in pre-production using a 3D scan (bottom video), dialling in camera movements using keyframes. This process allowed us to flawlessly recreate our shot plan with a robot arm in real life, followed by the addition of graphics in post-production. This approach not only streamlined our process on-set, but also allowed the client to preview the video before any cameras were switched on, resulting in the video being ready to launch earlier. We had a client order backlit graphics; these are graphics where there's a light source behind the images, like stained glass windows. The color on the images is highly dependent on the color for the light source behind the image. Or client's client wasn't happy with the color. We asked our client if they had more information about the light source; they didn't respond to that question, but reiterated that we needed to fix the color. So I spend about a week trying to nail down a better printer color profile. My first attempt gave a more accurate representation of the Pantone color they wanted, but had very poor definition in dark areas because the black generation and black point was messed up. The second iteration was less accurate for the Pantone colors, but was much more accurate for photographic representation. I can work with that, since I can do color replacement for spot colors like Pantone or RAL colors. Today our client came back to us. The colors still look all wrong. ...Because the graphics aren't supposed to be backlit after all. And they weren't being installed in a lightbox. So the color shift that is expected with an LED backlight source was never happening. The colors were looking consistently far too warm, even thought they were close to dead-on when backlit. It also means that we had been spec'ing the wrong fabric the whole time. This had gone through MULTIPLE proof and specification approvals prior to getting to this point.

DRYTAC ReTac Smooth 150 polymeric PVC film Make wall graphics like a Pro! ReTac Smooth 150 Polymeric PVC film enables you to install, remove and reposition graphics without leaving residue on the surface. The printable self-adhesive vinyl is ideal for many indoor wall graphic applications. You can print, remove and reposition graphics on a range of surfaces. ReTac Smooth 150 is a 6 mil (150μ) white polymeric printable PVC film coated with ReTac ultra-removable adhesive technology. This allows you design and print displays for when you need to easily install, remove and reposition graphics. Leave your mark with graphics not residue Many removable adhesives have a tendency to form strong bonds over time. The polymeric self-adhesive vinyl incorporates Drytac’s Adhesive Science to produce a PVC film that maintains its adhesive strength over time. This means the printable vinyl adheres the same way every time without damaging the underlying surface when it is removed. Product Specialist Quote “The ReTac range of polymeric removable vinyl allows you to create displays that target specific products and areas. For example, you can respond quickly to changing footfall by moving posters from one area of a mall to another to ensure maximum exposure. It is easy to remove and reposition graphics many times without losing adhesion and leaving no residue whatsoever when removed.” Approved for Public Spaces ReTac Smooth 150 has several fire ratings, making it ideal for use on most indoor surfaces in public areas that require compliance with strict fire regulations, such as retail stores, airports, hotels and hospitals. The removable vinyl provides fire resistant graphics for curved, textured or angled surfaces where public safety is a priority. ReTac Smooth 150 polymeric PVC film can be printed on solvent, ec0-solvent, Latex and UV printers. Wall Surface Guide The type of wall surface will have an impact on the adhesive bond. It is critical to understand the nature of the surface in order to avoid graphic failure or removal issues. View our Wall Surface Guide to prepare for a successful installation. Innovative, rugged labels. Membrane vents, RFID track-and-trace solutions, enclosure venting, printed electronics and much more...
Most machined parts have many drilled cavities that must be protected until right before they are addressed in final assembly. Some people think that covering multiple cavities either requires applying multiple films, or that larger films must cover multiple holes. You don’t have to choose between an efficient production process OR keeping cavities individually protected. Segmented protection films allow the quick application of a single film with the flexibility to remove individual segments – and expose select cavities - as the manufacturing process requires. Available in virtually any shape and color, these parts can be printed with assembly instructions, symbols, graphics, barcodes or anything else to aid your operators and protect your products. #Machining #Protectionfilms #Schutzfollen #Packaging
