Valid point, thanks for sharing! 👏 From my experience abandonment cart offers can lower cart abandonment below the bechmark to avg. 50% with right strategy and benefit offering to the buyer. But never the less, focus should be always on delivering better UX and lower complexity of checkout process, without to many mandatory fields that create frusfration, which leads to losing customer.
