At Pilgrim, we recently created and conducted an in-house eNPS and Culture Survey to gather feedback directly from our employees, as fostering a healthy culture is essential to our success. We were thrilled to see a remarkable eNPS score of over 58, a strong indicator of employee satisfaction and advocacy.  This was calculated as per the industry definition, by subtracting the percentage of Detractors from the percentage of Promoters. What truly resonated with me was a 93% score for the question: "I am encouraged to be my authentic self at work." We chose to ask our employees this question as we believe in empowering our team members to bring their whole selves to work, without feeling the need to conform to any artificial personas. As Kurt Cobain said, ‘Come As You Are’. This score is a testament to the open and inclusive environment we cultivate at Pilgrim! I'm pleased to observe Informa Markets as they compete with RX Global by acquiring established exhibitions (Peter Hall is interesting person). What remains unclear to me is their continued use of less popular lead generation solutions like Swapcard. On every exhibition, I see only 5-10% of visitors downloading it from the Google Store, and I periodically share this statistic in my feed. Fundamentally, the main reason (93% of respondents) brands spend money on building booths is to generate leads from visitors. We use our own tool, Expochats, which is more powerful than both RX's ColleQt and any other non-downloadable one-day apps used at exhibitions.

When I was 20, I worked as a public clerk at my hometown's City Hall — a stable job that made my dad proud. By 25, I left the public sector to explore other paths: I worked as a waiter, bartender, night receptionist, and call center operator. I wanted more than a "job for life"; I wanted to learn and experience as much as I could. At 26, I discovered #mrx and joined Ipsos Romania, hoping for an exciting journey. It started with night shifts to align with the West Coast, which taught me project management, some #mrx topped up with resilience, and adaptability. Little after my 29th birthday, I moved to Canada, spending the next five years at Ipsos — eight years in total — where I grew professionally while staying true to my values. When I was 34, I applied for two roles, got two offers, and chose one that required 100% office work — it was 2019, and only influencers and digital nomads worked remotely. Six months later, I left for a NYC headquartered company. It was exciting, and I thrived, creating processes and growing professionally — it was challenging and rewarding and it was exactly what I asked from the universe. By 35, I made it into management, enjoying COVID19 courtesy full remote work and frequent travel to NYC — some of the best days of my career. At 38, I navigated challenging times, including layoffs affecting my team, and eventually, I was impacted as well. Joining the #opentowork badge community taught me valuable lessons about the realities of work culture and the importance of resilience. I rebounded and, in 2023, joined the company I had turned down in 2019. Six months later, I was part of another round of layoffs. So, dear recruiters, this is my journey. If you'd done your homework like candidates do before interviews, you could skip a redundant step in the process. Want to break the ice? Talk about the weather.
