IME South may be over, but the impact we made in Charlotte continues to inspire us! Here are some notables from our second edition: - Raised $1,500 for STEM Skool – A K-12 Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math Education Non-Profit Organization in Charlotte, NC – through our IME South donation campaign. -Exceeded our goal with 27 blood donations for the local Red Cross. -Had staff members volunteer at the Hospitality House of Charlotte. Austin Bank's allegiance to the communities it serves continues to manifest itself through contributions in direct support of local education, the arts, literacy, health and housing needs as well as countless hours of volunteer service given by Austin Bank employees. B.E. Blessed is a non-profit organization in the Conroe area with the mission of providing school supplies, hygiene kits, and other essentials to low-income students throughout their community. Baily (pictured center) was 6 years old when she realized that not all of her classmates had their own crayons. This inspired her to create B.E. Blessed to provide underprivileged students with the supplies they need to succeed. Since the organization made it's first donation in 2006, they've raised over $230,000 and provided school supplies to over 2,900 students. We are proud to support Baily and B.E. But all families of different races or ethnic backgrounds can have a child with DS. And that’s why it's important that we continue to focus on research that can lead to scientific discoveries that improve the quality of life for those with DS.
