#InfosysFoundation believes that technology has immense power to change the lives of the underprivileged. Especially, Information, Communication and Technology (ICT) plays a major role in rural education, health, hygiene, agriculture, and social awareness. To support the NASSCOM Foundation’s NDLM project to empower people in rural households with crucial digital literacy skills, Infosys Foundation sponsored training center for persons with disability in Mysuru aiming to train 500 people with disability every year along with 300 other candidates. Such simple training and implementation of ICT programs in easy-to-understand language has the potential to bring about a revolution in rural development. Infosys | #CSR | #ICT | #RuralDevelopment

The 'Fortune Change the World' list is rooted in the belief that companies can mobilize the creative tools of capitalism to help solve social problems—using the profit motive to achieve goals that are just as important as turning a profit, and sometimes more so. Infosys is a four-decade-old Indian consultancy working to provide digital training to workers worldwide, with a goal of reaching 10 million people by 2025. It has already reached 8.5 million: Its education system Springboard has 5.9 million students in India alone, providing master classes, programming challenges, and life skills courses. The nonprofit foundation Infosys runs has also touched all 28 states of India. In fiscal 2023, the company provided more than 100 grants that impacted 1.7 million people. Infoys makes a debut at #11 in 'Fortune Change the World' list! Read more here. https://lnkd.in/gNkAVBRs

Infosys Foundation scholarship for girls in STEM is a good initiative but POINTLESS. Such scholarships make NO IMPACT in the life of young students from the lowest income families. The Infosys Foundation problem statement states that 25% of girls dropout while transitioning from class 10th to 12th/college. However its scholarship criteria is that girls should already be admitted in a college. Conflict?? In our work we have seen students from annual family income of less than Rs. 3 lakh drop out for not being able to even fund the basic college form application fees. It goes as low as Rs. 300-500. Some can't even fund Rs. 3,000-5,000 govt college fees. How are they expected to get into college, fund their fees and then apply for such scholarships? Such scholarships may help young students who would come from lower-middle income families but not the one's who really need it. Corporates like Infosys should introspect on the problem they really want to solve or atleast get to understand the problem they are solving by launching such scholarships. It is definitely not going to motivate girls to NOT drop out in class 10-12. Its no where close to solving this problem. Scholarship Link: https://lnkd.in/gjHKF533 iDreamCareer.com
