Additionally, the gender gap in STEM fields remains stark, with only 14% of engineers in India being women, according to the National Sample Survey Organization (NSSO). These statistics underscore the imperative to address the root causes of these discrepancies. By advocating for policies that promote girls' education, providing mentorship programs tailored to their needs, and fostering an inclusive environment in workplaces, we can empower girls to realize their full potential. 🌟 Bridging the Dream Gap for Girls: A Call to Action 🌟 It's time to confront the harsh reality: the dream gap among girls and women is real. We tell them to dream big, to reach for the stars, but how can they when the world around them denies them opportunities and resources? As a society, we must acknowledge our role in perpetuating this gap. We raise our children differently, providing them with unequal opportunities and expecting them to excel regardless. But how logical or strategic is this approach? We unwittingly mold and nurture girls to dream within constraints, limiting their aspirations to fit into predefined roles within institutions like family and marriage. This not only stifles their potential but also perpetuates systemic inequalities. It's time for change. We must empower girls to dream without limits, to break free from societal confines, and to pursue their passions with unbridled ambition. Let's provide equal opportunities, resources, and support to all, regardless of gender. Women empowerment means empowering women with all the rights they should have in the family, society, school, college, and country, just like a man. It is to make them able to make their own independent decisions for their personal development. The status of women in Indian society is still backward because of gender inequality. Women also should be given equal rights like men to empower them. They should not be treated as the weak gender of the society as they occupy almost half the country’s population, so they are half the country’s strength. Women have more patience and effort.They can better develop their country. Ministry of Human Resource Development established the Ministry for Women and Child Development in India in 1985 for the welfare and holistic development of women and children. Following initiatives are run under this program, such as Integrated Child Development Services, Swayamsidha Programme, National Commission for Women, etc. A woman who is educated is able to secure a job for herself and meet her family’s everyday requirements. She becomes financially independent and makes her own decisions. Education brings prosperity not only to the woman and her family but also to the nation. Without education, women empowerment is a distant dream and there is no way Sustainable Development Goals can be achieved. If we want the women to be empowered we must educate them and make the education of girl child mandatory

One of the causes I resonate strongly with is Girls Education. As my Linkedin has mostly Urban users, it might not mean a lot but out of 100+ villages I travelled to, girls participation in higher education falls drastically. As a result they are stuck in disabling environments such as patriarchy and unskilled workplaces, with no choice but to go through the pain. #What can you do? Let’s commit to supporting at least one girl child with her education, living or healthcare. And see how the entire family of her is going to be transformed. Sharing this magic trick from my experience with CARE India & CARE focused on supporting women and girls from marginalised communities. Keeping it light now by not talking about another pain factor; Gender Based Violence. But GBV is an important issue to address for a holistic solution. #nationalgirlchildday
