What they don’t tell you about Dubai… the worst things about living here ❌ Believe it or not for one of them lately… it’s the rain. If you’re in the UK, you’ll be used to it drizzling with rain every day. It’s part of your normal life, you crack on as normal. 🌧️ But when it rains here… the whole city stops and this happens: You get deafening siren like alarms at 6am sent to your phone from the government warning you to stay inside. As if an earthquake has gone off ⛈️⏰ There is little to no drainage systems here, because well… we’re in the desert- it’s not supposed to rain 🤣 meaning the roads flood up causing chaos everywhere. Cars trapped under water, even people out in canoes, and I’m not exaggerating 🚣 Everywhere stops delivery services due to the drivers unable to travel to you. You rely on them so much here that if you don’t have a shop nearby to walk to, you’re probably not eating 😱🍔 How is this happening? If you don’t know this… apparently it’s all planned but then some people tell me it’s not this time. It’s rained over 5 times now in the last month. It’s called cloudseeding 🌧️ I’m hearing a couple of reasons… 1. To help make Dubai a more green place. More water = more plants growing etc 2. To cool the weather for longer so that it reduces the brutal summers & attracts more tourists and less people leave. Anyone else heard other reasons? #dubairealestate #dubailife #rainindubai

The weather forecast is calling for temperature of 47°C here in the #UAE this week. With heat levels rising to extreme highs, it's important we all take proper safety precautions. Some key tips: - Stay hydrated - Drink plenty of water regularly and avoid beverages with caffeine or alcohol which can dehydrate you. Carry water with you at all times when outside. - Limit time outdoors - Try to avoid peak sunlight hours (11am-4pm). If you must be outside, wear a hat and light, loose-fitting clothing. - Watch for signs of heat stress - Monitor yourself and coworkers for headache, dizziness, nausea, or confusion. Act fast if you notice any issues. - Keep your home cool - Close windows and curtains during the day to keep interiors cool. Consider using fans or A/C if possible. Check on elderly neighbors who may be more vulnerable. - Pace yourself - Listen to your body and take regular breaks if working outdoors. Excessive physical exertion in extreme heat puts major stress on your system. Staying cool and hydrated is crucial. Let's look out for one another and pace ourselves to avoid any heat-related issues. Tag coworkers to share and stay safe out there! #weather #UAE #middleeast #construction #publichealth #climatechange #healthsafety #extremeweather #hotsummer #health #construction #labours Ministry of Health and Prevention - UAE
