Hello Team, MY COMPRESSOR HAS PERFORMANCE LOSS I had a customer that called me with flow issues with their Corken 891. One of the obvious is to look at the valves. IF the valves are not sealing off, then you will have blow-by and performance loss. This applies to all models of compressors. I asked a customer to take a temp gun and shoot the suction and discharge valves while compressor is running. All of the suction valves should be about the same temp. All of the discharge valves should be running about the same temp. Of course, the discharge valves are going to run hotter than suction due to the compression. One of the discharge valves was running 25 degrees hotter than the others. So, customer removed the valve and poured alcohol in it to see if it was leaking. If it is not leaking, the alcohol will fill up the valve. BINGO. Valve was leaking by. Replaced with new valve and machine is back up and running with full flow. Per the IOM ***CHECK YOUR HOLD DOWN SCREWS regularly. DELTA Liquid-Gas coalescers are widely used to remove water and hydrocarbon liquids from gas stream. DELTA Gas Coalescers ensure natural gas quality and protect downstream equipment such as compressors, gas engines, metering stations, gas fired heaters or gas-gas purification membranes. In the Natural Gas industry, gas/liquid coalescers are used for recovery of lube oil downstream of a compressor. Delta Gas Coalescers are employed to recover lube oil by installing at the outlet of the compressor. Liquids from upstream of the compressor, which may include aerosol particles, entrained liquids or large volumes of liquids called "slugs" and which may be water and/or a combination of hydrocarbon liquids should be removed by a filter/coalescing vessel located upstream of the compressor. SPM-3510 Turbo-Expander The Turbo-Expander program represents a typical gas expander found in process plants, especially where cryogenic conditions are required. The Turbo-Expander depressures feed gas by expansion of the gas across a turbine. The Turbo-Expander drives a Gas Compressor used to recompress a large part of the expanded gas after downstream processing. The depressuring and extraction of work from the feed gas stream result in a fairly large decrease in the gas temperature. Depending on the feedgas composition, this temperature decrease can cause some of the heavier components in the gas to liquefy, despite the lower outlet pressure of the Turbo-Expander. Flow through the Turbo-Expander is regulated by adjustment of the inlet guide vane. The Turbo-Expander is protected against overspeed and mechanical trouble by automatic closure of the inlet guide vane and concurrent opening of the expander bypass line.
