The Montefiore Cancer Center in The Bronx, NY studied the effectiveness of the MyEleanor app, an AI-based virtual patient navigator, as part of a colorectal cancer screening quality improvement (QI) project. The study explored how AI-driven applications, such as the MyEleanor app, could potentially serve as a complement to a stretched healthcare workforce. The findings of the study showed the potential for AI-driven healthcare applications to provide valuable support within the healthcare sector. The authors conclude that the integration of technology and healthcare, as evidenced by the promising results of the study, presents an opportunity to address critical healthcare needs and improve patient outcomes. The significance of the intersection of technology and healthcare is huge. I think that the study makes a good argument for an EB-2 NIW petition for a computer science professional working on merging technology and healthcare.
