A new year has just begun and we are excited to welcome new doctoral students to our team, bringing fresh perspectives, strong motivation, and enthusiasm. Eleonora Pinto, a medical biotechnologist who has been with us for three years, is now embarking on a new professional journey to further her growth as a scientist, and we are thrilled to support her in realizing her career aspirations. Eleonora will work on the development of an innovative method for generating CAR-T cells in vivo. CAR-T cell therapy typically involves extracting the patient's T lymphocytes, engineering them in the lab with a chimeric receptor (CAR) that targets tumor cells, and then reintroducing the enhanced cells into the patient. However, this process is intricate, expensive, and can lead to systemic toxicities. Moreover, there is a risk of tumor cells developing resistance to CAR. Eleonora's approach aims to generate CAR-T cells directly in the body, transferring the CAR gene to T cells in a living model. This not only can reduce time and costs but also mitigate the risk of systemic toxicities and potential alterations in cell phenotype during lab manipulations. We wish Eleonora the best of luck in her new project with us! #biotech #biotechnology #research #phd #students #career

Delta4 is offering a Computational Biology PhD position! Join the 3-year European Doctoral Network (DN) program, "PROMOTE," focusing on computational drug screening and synthetic lethality drug repurposing to identify novel therapeutic options for prostate cancer (PCa). PCa is the second most common malignancy, affecting ~1.3 million men every year worldwide. Tragically, there is a treatment paradox, as ~45% of PCa patients experience slow-growing cancer and are unlikely to progress rapidly, while PCa is not curable at an advanced stage. Clinical management of PCa is not optimal, as patients who do not require treatment are over-treated, while for those where immediate actions are required, efficient treatment is still needed. To fill the above gaps, PROMOTE was formed to educate doctoral candidates in emerging -omics and AI technologies. Collaborate with 13 top research centers and help discover novel non-invasive tools and more efficient therapeutic options for this disease. Apply now to be part of our cutting-edge team in Vienna, Austria. Visit our website for more details: https://delta4.ai/careers/ #Delta4AI #JoinOurTeam #PhDPosition #ComputationalBiology #DrugRepurposing #ProstateCancer #ResearchOpportunity
