The air is buzzing with innovation at Cisco’s 2024 Hackathon! For our 8th hackathon, 1,800 engineers came together across the world to develop solutions in networking, AI, and emerging technologies. This event highlights our ongoing commitment to innovation and strengthens our global community of engineers to push the boundaries of technology. Some of my reflections: - Great ideas can come from anywhere. 20% of ideas from these hackathons end up being shipped to customers, funded for more research, or even taken directly to showcase at conferences. - A little competition can cultivate a culture of openness and collaboration as participants work towards a unified goal. - It’s easy to get stuck in a day-to-day routine, but events like these unleash stored-up creativity. Congratulations to all our talented engineers! We are proud of the creativity and innovation you are driving, showcasing the power of collaboration and diverse expertise.

🚀 Hackathon Results: ArconQ is now edge-ready! From September 4th to 6th, our Poznań office turned into a hub of innovation as the ArconQ team took on an exciting hackathon. Their mission? To make ArconQ applications work seamlessly on edge devices, ensuring that factory operations stay smooth even when cloud connectivity is spotty. 🔧 The Challenge: Integrate ArconQ’s cloud capabilities with edge devices for real-time control and monitoring. 🌟 The Solution: Over three intense days, two teams developed solutions that allowed ArconQ’s powerful features to run directly on edge devices. They demonstrated their breakthroughs by connecting cameras, LEDs, and more to Raspberry Pis, ensuring reliable, real-time interactions. 🎉 The Outcome: Both teams successfully created prototypes that bring ArconQ’s cloud functionality to the factory floor, paving the way for more resilient and interactive industrial automation. 💬 Team Feedback: “The hackathon was intense but incredibly rewarding,” said Marcin Ptak. “We’ve proven that edge integration is not just possible, but practical,” added Stanisław Boboryk. Rustam Ashurov, Head of R&D, noted, “This is just the start. We’re excited for what’s next!" Read the whole summary of hackathon: https://lnkd.in/d77uzbbw

We were challenged to create a solution that can impact Billions, and we did... 🛜2.6 Billion people across the world lack internet access. Lack of infrastructure combined with high costs, make it difficult for internet access to be expanded. 🤔 Here's a kicker: if you could make basic internet cheaper, would that alone enable the disprivileged to use modern technologies we see in the developed world? And the answer is: NO ❌ It doesn't matter if the internet is cheap, if it takes 10 years to load google. SO WHAT IF we could combine cheap internet and highspeed internet into a single package? That's where Laser Internet comes in. 👉 Laser-based internet aims to combine the cheapness of lasers with the speed of life, to bring the internet of tomorrow to life. 🚀 And against over 100 competitors at a moonshot hackathon hosted by The Knowledge Society (TKS), our prototype below helped our idea shine through and win the "best prototype award." 🤝 In less than 5 years from now, we could see this technology becoming the standard for internet access. Let's make it happen - Together! Shoutout to my teammates Hengbin Fang and Nathan Yan for making this happen, as well as The Knowledge Society (TKS) for enabling this journey. Hackathon 2024 is officially over. Starting from 10th of July in the next 24 hours we organized hackathon in our InGrid building in Novi Sad. 62 employees participated and gathered into 13 teams. They had 24 hours to come up with a solution and choose from 11 topics. The topics weren’t completely defined so the teams had freedom to embrace with diverse perspectives, develop the plan and aspire to build the solution. We in Schneider Electric count on our expertise, who will deliver the highest quality of innovation. There for it was a great honor to have our Innovation team from all around the world lead by EVP Innovation Nadège Petit , visiting us and supporting our SE Hackathon The winning team is Dare DEVils who worked on Plugin Based Diagnostics Tool. Team consists of Dimitrije Mitić, Stevan Filipović, Nemanja Simic ,Dunja Bursać i Marko Mihajlov . 🏆 The idea behind the tools they designed is to reduce the time spent analyzing non-software problems (network settings, system configurations and applications, etc.). They analyzed the most common problems that lead to the so-called "Works for me" bugs, and automated the verification of such things through the tool. Although this was a winning solution, we must add that the other solutions were really phenomenal and we hope to see them in action in the future. Everything we achieve, we achieve together , collaborating with trust and openness.💚 #ImpactStartsWithUs #SEHackathon #SEGreatPeople
