(Separation of natural gas) **Separators are Sometimes called : 1) gas scrubber: When the ratio of gas rate to Liquid rate is high. 2) slug Catcher: Commonly used in gas gathering pipelines designed to handle gas capacities and liquid slngs.(two phase separator). 3) traps designed to handle flou directly from wells. **Gosp (Gas-oil separation plant): Main target in the gas-oll separation Precess : 1)Separate C1, C2 light gasses from oil. 2) Maximize the recovery ot heavy Components. 3) Save the heavy group Components in liquid product. **Slug Catcher: *Slug catcher is a static equipment used in the upstream oil production facilities to minimize the slug from oil and gas pipeline. *It is located between the outlet of the pipeline and the processing equipment. *Pigging Slugs: Pigging is when a cleaning device is conveyed through the flow lines under pressure to clean, purge and inspect pipelines to ensure smooth fluid flow. *Slug catchers are designed in different forms: 1)A vessel type slug catcher is essentially a conventional vessel. This type is simple in design and maintenance. 2)A finger type slug catcher consists of several long pieces of pipe (‘fingers’), which together form the buffer volume. The advantage of this type of slug catcher is that pipe segments are simpler to design for high pressures, which are often encountered in pipeline systems, than a large vessel.
