*** One Lesson, One Experience *** Teachers Wear Many Hats: Let’s Talk About the Organizer Role Ever felt like a simple group activity was spiraling out of control? One small adjustment can turn chaos into creativity—here’s how I learned to embrace the power of being an Organizer in the classroom. As teachers, we often shift roles to meet the needs of our students. One of the most crucial—and dynamic—roles is "The Organizer." This role involves giving clear instructions, forming groups or pairs, initiating activities, and providing feedback. It’s about creating a seamless flow in the classroom, where students feel confident and engaged. The Organizer ensures that everyone knows what to do, when to do it, and how it connects to their learning goals. But here’s the challenge: How do we strike a balance between guiding students and giving them space to thrive? How do we ensure the classroom is structured without stifling creativity?

During a teacher inset I was facilitating, I ended one session with a simple task: I asked every teacher to answer two questions on a sticky note—What’s one idea you found useful today? and What’s one area you still need clarity on? At first, there was hesitation, but as the sticky notes started coming in, I was amazed. This simple exercise sparked deeper conversations and shaped the next session's agenda. It reminded me of the power of exit tickets. Exit tickets are more than just a classroom strategy. They provide immediate feedback, and help ensure that learning is not only delivered but absorbed. For students, they encourage reflection, metacognition and gives them a voice. For educators, they highlight what’s working and what isn’t and plan better. So don’t underestimate the value of a well-crafted exit ticket. It’s a small plenary activity with a big impact. #ExitTicket #Reflection #ZippysClassroom #MakeTeachingGreat
