When the pace of change is accelerating for your market place, your strategic ability to adapt swiftly — is everything. Just like the universe, our global economy is expanding with accelerating pace. This will require a whole new way to conduct business strategy ♟️ Since the Big Bang for our modern civilization at the start of the Industrial Revolution, the pace of innovation is constantly increasing — and in the next 10 years, the rate of change for most sectors out there will be almost science fiction-like compared to the business text books of the past. Current equilibriums will move to new equilibriums: 👨💻 Many software applications will go extinct as AI will enable anyone to copy anything 🚕 Autonomous driving will start obsoleting human driving, personal car ownership, dealerships, crashes, parking, etc. 🏭 Manufacturing will start reshoring and go from a game of units to service 🕸️ E-commerce will start meeting competition from a peer-to-peer sharing economy for the first time 💸 Any physical product will be ’IPO:d’ and become a Financial Twin, building the next major financial asset class 🦿 Humanoid robots will start becoming a general-purpose body for many of the appliances and machines we today take for granted (and make factories in high-cost cities feasible again) 🗣️ Personal AI agents will take over as the natural language service layer between companies and customers, enabling proactive financial, health, and educational advice, and 1000s of other upsides, for billions of people ♟️ Traditional strategic planning for companies will meet its successor; strategic discovery. And all companies will have their ”AI Strategy Copilot” The implications of the coming great convergence of multiple disruptive innovations, will lead to redrawn market rules. 📗 The playbook of the past will get thrown out in favor of something new. I believe this something new will be a web of future scenarios that constantly are calibrated and automatically molded into a ever-fresh strategic roadmap. The traditional way of Strategic planning is not fast enough, it doesn’t allow for continuous discovery of new endeavors, and it’s certainly not flexible. Strategic discovery means that business strategy is always in the works. It’s always iterating what the best possible paths forward are — equipping an organization with the ability to adapt swiftly. So, when the pace of change is accelerating for your market place, your strategic ability to adapt swiftly — is everything. —> Prioritize your strategic ability to adapt. All the best, Christopher (Amazing chart below by ARK Invest, illustrating aggregate pace of change)

A recent report by BCG, "Innovation Systems Need a Reboot", reveals a concerning gap between innovation aspirations and preparation. Their findings show: 🔹Global Innovation Readiness is Down: Measured by their proprietary innovation maturity score, companies are falling short. Only 3% score in the "ready zone," indicating a significant need for improvement. 🔹Focus on Process, Not Strategy: While innovation leaders cite unclear or overly broad strategies as their main challenge, most organizations are working on optimizing processes rather than building a strong innovation roadmap. 🔹Strategic Alignment Matters: Companies that demonstrate a tight connection between business and innovation strategies see a 5% advantage in new product sales compared to the average. 🔹Underutilized Potential of Generative AI: Nearly all organizations are experimenting with Generative AI (GenAI) in their innovation efforts. However, large-scale implementation remains rare, hindering the potential to reshape processes and unlock entirely new products, services, and business models. This report serves as a wake-up call for businesses striving to be innovation leaders. It's time to move beyond process tinkering and focus on building a clear, strategic vision for innovation. Basically, companies want to be innovative, but they're not quite ready to make it happen. #innovation #business
