Have you lost all interest in your corporate career? I did...and here's how I fixed that: ----- I dove into my job wanting to climb fast 🏃 Lemme tell you, corporate was good to me. It gave me: • Skills • Credibility • Financial cushion    But I also sacrificed my: • Potential • Health • Time ...thinking it was "for my family." Looked up at my bosses' lives 👔 It scared me: → Miserable   → Unhealthy → Expendable → Nowhere to go → Stuck at the top I thought working hard meant providing for my family.  But I was hurting them, missing:  • Birthdays • Beach fun • Baseball games    ...for "critical" meetings. Drained...doing busywork for faceless corporations.  Clock was ticking...FAST. "Is this it?" I craved freedom and impact. → But feared risk → Clung to the "safety" → My soul died at my desk I knew I had to break from the corporate grind. I'd never be excited padding someone else's pockets...or working a mission that wasn't mine 😣 To be happy, I needed to OWN something. To create and run something I cared about. Enough wasting away in a gilded cage.   So I took radical action: 1. Put Corporate on Autopilot   2. Radically Changed My Environment 3. Invested in Mentors 4. Clarified My Dream Life    5. Deciphered My Zone of Genius 6. Designed a Personal Category 7. Became a Content & Conversation Machine 8. Started a Simple Side Business   9. Experimented Forward     These 9 steps were instrumental. I then chose to leave corporate for good. Sociallyin is the 2nd company that I’ve worked for more than 2 years in my entire career. At this point, I’ve finally realized why there are some employees who just refused to work anywhere else. It’s because once you’ve found a company that: 1. Treats you with respect 2. Cares about your well-being 3. Compensate you a fair amount 4. Challenges you to go above and beyond 5. Encourages you to be better and the best in your field 6. Provides you amazing co-workers and bosses that supports each other You just can’t imagine yourself working anywhere else. You just can’t imagine leaving your family behind. I know there’s some stigma about calling a company you’re working for a family but I believe this with every fiber of my being, that I’ve finally found a company that I truly consider as my 2nd family.

Our professional family grew this week. Danielle Bucki and I are extremely excited to welcome Alysa Stinson to our FIt Butters team. For the past several years we were a two person team (in the office) but it was time to expand. Many of you have read our core values; we print them on every jar. When we listed the position for Events and Sales Representative we knew that the hire had to align with our core values, our vision, mission and culture. Family. Alysa has been part of our influencer fam for over the past year. She’s already been part of our DNA. She’s been to every major event with us over the past year and understands what makes us special. Authenticity. We’ve gotten the pleasure to get to know Alysa more on a personal level since we’ve spent so much time together on the road. We’ve heard her story. Her ups and her downs. Her achievements and her failures. She didn’t hide from them, but embraced it all to better herself both personally and professionally. Quality. This one can mean so much as it pertains to Alysa. She’s a quality human being. She’s so good to us as people, to our children and obviously to the business. Then there’s quality of work. Whether she’s creating content for us, shipping or working an event, she gives it her all each and every time. We quickly realized during our first event that she’s a leader and a go getter. Transparency. This is one of Alysa’s strongest attributes. Alysa is 22 years old, did not complete college, and admittedly had no idea what she wanted to do with her life. During our formal interview she admitted that on paper we’ll find better candidates and she may not be the strongest in every aspect but what she’s really good at is going all in on something she loves. She’s willing to learn, wants to continually be challenged and wants to kick ass at everything she does. Transparently no college degree gives you this kind of confidence and ability to get sh*t done. At the end of the day it wasn’t about a college degree, it wasn’t about experience, it was about family, fit and fueling a purpose. Some things just can’t be taught, and Alysa has the “it” factor. She embodies the H3 mindset. Hard Work. Hustle. Humility.

Yesterday, during our usual catch-up, a brilliant idea ignited a heartfelt conversation. My manager opened up about her experiences, beautifully reminding me that we all carry unique stories on our career journeys. I vividly remember my college days in Galway. It was the year “Wrecking Ball” by Miley Cyrus was constantly on the radio. I had to repeat a year because of financial accounting but didn't tell my parents. To scrape by, I took a door-to-door sales job, and unexpectedly, it turned out to be a blessing in disguise . That role taught me resilience, communication skills, and allowed me to connect with people from diverse backgrounds. I made it a habit to ask, "How do I say hello in your language?" This small gesture often broke the ice, leading to heartfelt connections. I cherish memories of being invited in for dinner, and quite often, I would leave with take-away bowls 😂 and, of course, the sales. Each one of us carries stories filled with triumphs, challenges, and unexpected twists. These experiences shape us into who we are. It’s easy to focus solely on the destination, but real growth happens along the journey. So, as we go into the bank holiday , let's take a moment to appreciate where we are and recognize how far we've come. Remember to laugh, take pictures and enjoy the journey. The best is yet to come. On Past Work Experiences Reflecting on my first year at what could only be described as the most eccentric yet endearing paper supply company in Northeastern Pennsylvania, I find myself grappling with the comedic absurdity of those early days. From day one, it was clear that this was not going to be your typical office experience. The regional manager, a man with a unique penchant for inappropriate jokes and an undying love for practical pranks, somehow made the mundane world of paper sales an unforgettable adventure. Our small but quirky sales team was a melting pot of personalities, each more vibrant and peculiar than the last. There was the sardonic salesman with a love for beet farming, the receptionist whose artistic dreams seemed a world away from her desk, and the ambitious temp who viewed this job as a mere stepping stone in his grand career plans. Our daily meetings were nothing short of theatrical performances, led by a manager whose management style was as unconventional as his sense of humor. Among the memorable moments was the "Diversity Day" training - an ambitious attempt at promoting workplace harmony that went hilariously awry, leaving us with lessons in what not to do more than anything else. Then there was the birthday celebration for the accountant who preferred to remain as inconspicuous as possible, resulting in a painfully awkward party that somehow brought us closer together. Through all the pranks, the misguided team-building exercises, the fire drills, and the endless paper sales, what stood out the most was the sense of family that developed among us. Despite the often ridiculous circumstances we found ourselves in, it was the laughter, the resilience, and the unexpected moments of genuine care and support that made that year unforgettable. In retrospect, those early days taught me more about leadership, teamwork, and the importance of cultivating a positive workplace culture than any textbook ever could. It was a year filled with laughter, learning, and a fair share of cringe-worthy moments, but it was also a testament to the idea that sometimes, the most unconventional environments can be the most enriching. As I move forward in my career, I carry with me not just the lessons learned from sales reports and client meetings, but the invaluable experiences of navigating the unpredictable yet rewarding challenges that come with being part of such a unique team.
