I was overwhelmed by the number of applications I received, but a few candidates made things way easier. They clearly stated the job they were applying for in the email subject line. This simple step helped me find the right candidates quickly and made a great impression. But not everyone did this. Does this picture resonate with you? 😥🤦🏻♂️ It's sad, but unfortunately very true for many. In my interactions with both college graduates looking for a job and senior managers who want to hire, the openings for freshers are somewhat muted at the moment. Hiring is definitely picking up for folks with experience, which is a good sign of the tide turning. In my humble opinion, everything reverts to mean. In any cycle, the pendulum swings in one direction, reaches an extreme point and then reverses direction. H2-2020, 2021, 2022 was time when there was boom in job market as tech companies were scrambling to hire people. Situation reversed severely in 2023. What lies ahead in 2024? No one knows & it's too hard to predict. Solution - Patience. It is not that far, when companies start hiring enough freshers. FYI - Our group is hiring experienced folks (8-12yrs) for Power Delivery (PDN), Reliability, Power Analysis, Low power design roles. The tech hiring market is definitely heating up! In January, there's been a dramatic increase in the number of companies that have reached out to me (inbound) looking for help with hiring engineers + engineering executives. This is (obviously) a great sign. I've also noticed (via my feed) a significant increase in "I'm hiring" posts. Lastly, the salary ranges I'm seeing (across the board) are highly competitive, if not aggressive.
