80% of the world’s workforce does not work at a desk but in operational or commercial environments. The “human factor” has always been crucial for me, even as a project manager for IT and security projects in industry. That’s why I could never understand why, on large construction sites or in manufacturing companies, the onboarding and training of employees and external personnel like myself were often still conducted in boring face-to-face sessions or poorly digitized formats. The result? Overstressed managers, countless hours of wasted time, and numerous mistakes, some of them serious. Nearly three years ago, we set out to solve this problem by creating onboarding and training software for a forgotten audience: the everyday worker - the hardworking backbone of our society. More than 170 customers and over 120,000 employees trained later, I am very proud to announce that we have secured €7.6 million in funding from Creandum (Spotify, Trade Republic, Pleo) and our existing investors. It is an honor to have one of Europe’s best VCs as a sparring partner. I look forward to working with our amazing team to develop many new features and products that solve our customers’ problems and democratize the onboarding and training of frontline employees. Finally putting my thoughts together after the incredible MWC Barcelona 2024!   As pioneers in telecom Corp-Up collaborations, at Match-Maker Ventures we always try to be aligned with the latest market trends. Our corporate partners rely on us to discover cutting-edge solutions and MWC Barcelona 2024 offered plenty of insights.   Here a few trends that really caught our eye: - 𝐀𝐈 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐧𝐞𝐭𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤 𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐮𝐬𝐞 𝐜𝐚𝐬𝐞𝐬: Generative AI and its potential to transform network management, customer experience, and even content creation was a major talking point. Interestingly, the focus on the use cases for network management aligns strongly with our sourcing’s team focus at Match-Maker Ventures in scouting for cutting-edge AI solutions streamlining network operations and reducing OPEX. - 𝐄𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐠𝐲 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐮𝐦𝐩𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 – 𝐀𝐈 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝟓𝐆: Sustainability was another major theme, and AI's role in optimizing network energy usage through automation and predictive maintenance was addressed. Plus, advancements in energy-saving 5G technologies, including innovative antenna technology and network components, were highlighted as ways to further optimize 5G's potential. This opens doors for innovative solutions in areas like energy management which aligns perfectly with our current scouting topics. - 𝐏𝐫𝐢𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐧𝐞𝐭𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐬: 5G private networks were a major focus at last year's MWC Barcelona. This year, the conversation seemed to shift towards exploring their specific use cases and long-term viability. While secure, customized networks hold immense potential for industries like manufacturing and logistics, the question of their broader applicability remains open.
