Talking to business communication colleagues last week at a wonderful conference in (rainy? seriously?) Tucson. Confidence is like a seasoning for leadership: too much and you're at risk of over-salting, rendering your leadership unpalatable. Too little and trust in you may wane. Here, I'm discussing the way in which truly solid leaders exist in a sort of wavelike or cyclical pattern wherein they gain and use confidence, then cycle back to humility on the way to authenticity. Or something. Leadership is complicated, y'all. Makes it fun to study!
