Excellent initiatives in calls 9 & 10 driven by the industry in cooperation with the EU through Horizon Europe. Special mention to the topic on PFAS management in the healthcare sector. It's essential to understand where PFAS are introduced in the life-cycle of medicines, how to mitigate its emissions and how they could be replaced without compromising the efficacy, quality, safety and environmental performance of medicines.

Today we are launching two calls for public-private partnerships in health research and innovation with a public funding of 225M€ - matched by commitments from European medical technology and health industry for a truly transformative approach. In Call 9 we are pioneering a open, applicant-led approach to bring Europe to the forefront of health innovation. If you have an idea that brings together innovators across sectors - industry, academia, healthcare, patients and public bodies - to advance public health and European competitiveness then we have the opportunity to take this into a groundbreaking project with a significant budget. In Call 10 we are looking for public consortia with novel, innovative approaches to address important challenges in the European health landscape and Europe's industrial competitiveness, consortia - that want to join forces with our industry partners to address reduction of PFAS, develop a European-wide framework for digital medical technology information, or addressing innovation and intellectual property within the EHDS.
