When you blink, a film of tears spreads over the eye. This keeps the eye’s surface smooth and clear. The tear film is important for good vision. You can get dry eyes if you don't produce enough tears or if you produce poor-quality tears. This tear instability leads to inflammation and damage of the eye's surface. Dry eyes feel uncomfortable. If you have dry eyes, your eyes may sting or burn. You may experience dry eyes in certain situations, such as on an airplane, in an air-conditioned room, while riding a bike or after looking at a computer screen for a few hours. There are many other reasons for dry eyes - you're over the age of 50, you wear contact lenses, it's windy, cold, dry or dusty, you smoke or drink alcohol, you take certain medicines (for example, some antidepressants or blood pressure medicines) or you have a condition, such as blepharitis, Sjögren's syndrome or lupus. With so many reasons for the onset of dry eyes, it is just obvious that you need to take care of your eyes and treat the condition as soon as it appears before the damage becomes permanent and irreversible. Thermaeye PLUS IPL offers an easy to use, state-of-the-art treatment for all skin types (Fitzpatrick scale I to VI) and in all weather conditions for dry eyes. Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) treatment for dry eye utilizes pulses of light to constrict blood vessels and liquify and release hardened oils that have clogged meibomian glands in the eyelids. IPL also affects vascularization and inflammation of the eyelids, reducing eyelid redness and stimulating healthy gland function. Contact us today to find out more about the Thermaeye PLUS!
