Hi, everyone. George here from Impact with another episode of Investor of the Day. Every Monday through Friday, we bring you an Angel investor family office or VC who shares their thesis so that you know what they're looking for. Today we are featuring Margarita Cielo from Doorway. There are a seed and series, a investor who are agnostic in their investment thesis. The way we're mostly invest in startups in the European market, but we can all also invest internationally. We are second or agnostic with the preference of B2B startups with a strong technological component. We are agnostic also from a stage point of view, but also with spot our startups from late seed to Series A. We also prefer to be followers in the round and we invest through a club deal model, meaning with an SUV, hence the special purpose vehicle and our ticket ranges from 200 K to 5 million. And let's consider that our average ticket is 300 to 500. Ki put all the attention on the personal motivation of each. Thunder as well as the team completeness, usually a good team for us needs to be composed by people with experience on marketing, business as well as finance, innovation, technology and commercial part. I reckon that having completeness on each of these fundamental areas is key to succeed and to be resilient in the long term. The time of responsiveness I would say as investor I am attentive to how the founders answer and send information in an accurate and timely manner that. Can be a synonym of responsiveness also from a business point of view. Also another real deal breaker is when the startup doesn't have an international view and it's not able to set milestones for the expansion. It's really important that the founders have clear in mind the path that I wanna follow and the steps to be carried out to achieve their expansion. I would tell them to have a global vision and to build a strong network with people in their industry that can help them and they can become. Our nurse clients or one day they would can be the ones acquiring their company. Also when approaching a VC and advised that I will give is to articulate everything very well in your pitch deck. So explain clearly what's the problem that you want to solve, how it is currently addressed by players in the market and how you solve it compared to them and which advantages your solution brings with respect to the already existing ones. So specify how big is the market. There you're targeting and elaborate what's your go to market strategy and your business model, so how you actually generate revenues. So the ultimate goal for every player involved is to make an exit. Therefore the startup needs to have clear mind which would be the exit options. They could be other companies in the industry but also competitors. They may want to acquire the solution to complement their product, expand their market presence in other countries where they do do not operate yet and so on after a false call with the founders where they pitch. I asked for some further documentation to share such as business plan and company documents. So I would say I appreciate ponders sending these documents within let's say a week time frame without letting too much time to pass. And if instead I already have all the information and material that I need, I like them to wait for me to follow up on them. And if I was in touch with the start up a few months ago but they were not ready yet in terms of development stage, I really appreciate them. Update me with facts, I mean like achievements they've they've made during this last month, metrics that they've reached that shows me that they are growing and that makes me want to approach them again.
