Anaphylaxis in the operating theatre occurs around once every 10,000 cases. Although it is important to know the common triggers, finding a trigger should never delay your management of suspected anaphylaxis. If you do suspect a trigger, simply cease administering it or avoid giving it again where possible. In addition, we need an effective therapy to pair with this test. A whole blood purification therapy that helps patients remove circulating nucleosomes from the blood when they are persistently elevated. Elevated nucleosomes, known as neutrophils extracellular traps (NETs), participate in unwanted occlusive intravascular thrombi formation, compromising circulatory perfusion. Compromised circulatory perfusion and ischemia/reperfusion injury leads to greater cell death and nucleosome/NET release from host cells that are not getting sufficiently phagocytized as the disease progresses. High circulating nucleosome/NET levels in the blood, not only positively correlate with the severity of sepsis but also the severity of many non-infectious diseases and proinflammatory/procoagulant disorders.
