Driving Operational Excellence in Maritime Services as Global Head of Operations & Shared Services at Anglo-Eastern Ship Management
- Decarbonisation of the global maritime industry could support the creation of up to four million green jobs by 2050. – Demand for e-fuels is set to scale to over 500m tonnes by 2040, requiring additional 2TW of renewable energy generation capacity and £3.2 trillion of infrastructure investment. – This significant capital investment will see most green jobs created during the 2030s, to support renewable energy capacity building. – Majority of jobs likely to be distributed in the Global South, where conditions are optimal for the production of green fuels.

⚡ In an energising first for BHP in Australia... ⚡ BMA’s Queensland operations are on track to be fully powered by renewable electricity arrangements from FY2027 - under a new Power Purchasing Agreement (PPA) with CleanCo Queensland. When combined with the Asset’s previously executed renewable PPA, 100 per cent of BMA’s forecasted operational electricity demand will be met by sources such as wind and solar in two years’ time. 💯 It’s an exciting milestone, and one that represents significant progress on our pathway to FY2030. By decarbonising our operations, it’s helping us build an increasingly sustainable and more resilient business. Big thanks to everyone involved. 🙏

It’s been a big October so far at the Loan Programs Office | U.S. Department of Energy, with something for everyone! Love flying but worried about your carbon footprint? Check out our two big conditional commitments totaling nearly $3B for innovative sustainable aviation fuel projects in Montana and South Dakota (Montana Renewables, LLC and Gevo, Inc.). Want to buy your first EV but have some doubts? You can feel more confident with our conditional commitment for over $1B to expand EV charging across the US, plus $670M to achieve critical battery safety goals (EVgo and Aspen Aerogels). Care about grid decarbonization, resilience, and equity? LPO finalized over $800M in solar + storage construction for grid decarbonization and resilience in Puerto Rico (The AES Corporation Marahu). Proud to work at an office that has announced conditional commitments for over $15B this year alone – a wonderful example of how this administration is supporting manufacturing, decarbonization, and innovation all at once. https://lnkd.in/esNPhtmn https://lnkd.in/e4ify4Ub https://lnkd.in/eG8af9rg https://lnkd.in/eW95kQZ6 https://lnkd.in/eZB7mxbS

Electrical Engineering Innovator & Leader, Passionate about a Positive Energy Future - Driving Change as Director & Engineering Manager at Electrical Projects Australia Pty Limited | Founder of the ei™platform
I’d like to share a few mixed thoughts on this project: 1. I'm encouraged to see that the government is allowing new power generation projects to move forward, and it's great to see Mike Cannon-Brookes investing his own capital into this initiative. 2. After a recent trip to the Northern Territory, I’m reminded of how crucial it is to protect our unique landscapes and ecosystems. I'm uncertain if this project aligns with that goal. 3. Modern DC HV Links play a crucial role in grid stabilisation, both locally and globally. The technology behind it is fascinating. 4. While I hope for a different outcome, I have concerns that if this project proceeds, it may struggle to remain financially viable in the long term. #solar #renewables #NT #electricalengineering #DCHV

Markets & Investor Services is proud to share the FY2023 Sustainable Assets Impact Report for Clifford Capital's existing #infrastructure asset backed securities (#IABS) vehicles - Bayfront Infrastructure Capital II, III and IV. The report highlights the ongoing sustainability impacts of the eligible green and social assets within our IABS portfolios, which included a quarter of a billion dollars of invested in renewable energy projects that were estimated to have abated close to half a million tonnes of CO2 equivalent in greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions last year. The impact metrics were prepared by SLR Consulting, with data covering the reporting period from 1 January 2023 to 31 December 2023. We also spotlight two renewable energy projects based in Vietnam (pictured) and Jordan, which are critical to the clean energy transition commitments of their host countries.
