Why do we do what we do? We are passionate about engineering and working with organizations who are constantly searching for sustainable solutions. Engineering Better Living is what drives every member of TECOSIM’s global team. According to a study by the University of Strathclyde in 2019, the average rate of power cable failure is approximately 0.003 failures/km/year for European wind farms. Whether it’s turbine components or the cabling and infrastructure supporting them, developers need to be confident their assets can overcome the toughest operational challenges. Our advanced technology is being used in wind turbine fasteners and wind installation vessels. Our precise models calculate performance and reserve factors in all scenarios and harsh environments, including high winds and rough seas. 🌊 We support complex designs for heavy loads by providing early assessments. 🌊 We analyze joint design and loading conditions in a virtual environment. 🌊We also offer data-driven recommendations on the best materials for harsh environments. 🌟 Exciting sneak peek into R&D: Rotor Balancing Testing for Vega! 🌟When something spins, it wobbles. Some degree of wobble is unavoidable—the question is how small the wobble can be. That’s down to minimising unbalance, which is achieved by adding or removing mass here and there to cancel-out the small unbalance that was already present from manufacture. 🔬Tackling unbalance to minimise wobble is critical to smooth and efficient operation of our innovative kinetic energy storage systems. And it is done. The next step in the journey for our rotor is assembly into our integrated prototype. 🔋Our journey in R&D wouldn't be possible without the collaborative efforts of our talented researchers, engineers, and industry partners. Through constant innovation and hard work, we will continue to redefine the landscape of renewable energy technologies.🚀 #RenewableEnergy #EnergyStorage #Innovation #RnD #Sustainability #CleanEnergy #GreenTech #Engineering #Technology #FutureofEnergy #Kinetic

*Excited to announce our latest research on Structural Health Monitoring (SHM) in the renewable energy sector!* Check out the shared post below for more details. I look forward to sharing more soon. Stay tuned! #NDT #StructuralHealthMonitoring #RenewableEnergy #WindTurbines #Digitalization #ResearchInsights #OpenAccess
#NDTArticle The integration of digital technology into structural engineering has made Structural Health Monitoring (SHM) systems crucial, especially in the renewable energy sector. Johannes Rupfle, Bernhard W. and Markus Nowack's recent paper explores innovative methods to fine-tune sensor offsets for tilt and acceleration in wind turbine towers. Their research presents three approaches: using a 360-degree nacelle rotation for tower bending, uniaxial operational data for univariate regression, and biaxial data for multivariate regression. These methods not only enhance the accuracy of SHM systems but also enable automated sensor orientation and fault detection through long-term monitoring. Read their findings and see how these advancements can be applied to other slender structures under environmental load: https://lnkd.in/dVRg9hxm ReJNDT Special Issue 'Frontiers in Nondestructive Testing and Evaluation: Academic Insights (2022/23)' captures the contents of outstanding master's and doctoral theses in the field of nondestructive testing. It is edited by Dr. Thomas Würschig, Roberto Henry Herrera, Cesar Camerini, aldo Canova, Michele Carboni, Younho Cho, Elena Jasiuniene and Antonello Tamburrino. #NDT #StructuralHealthMonitoring #RenewableEnergy #WindTurbines #Digitalization #ResearchInsights #OpenAccess
