Absolutely amazing 👏 thank you.Honcho Supplies ... this will help getting to our next goal. To raise enough money so we can add an additional 3 months worth of Mortgage to the amount we already give to families who have lost a loved one at the workplace...and a massive thank you to all that will be getting the mats on-site. If you would like more information on having a safety presentation that takes workers on a journey to.... 1. the reality of what a tragedy looks like 2. shifting complacency and learning to recognise a she'll be right moment, re-evaluating their decision to make sure it's the right one, because it takes a couple of minutes to decide but a couple of seconds for tragedy to strike and then its too late. 3. Folks- Your periodic #DisasterResponse reminder to please put the word out to your well-meaning loved ones and networks that CASH IS KING when it comes to how you can help, be it #LAwildfires or #HeleneRelief or any disaster. Your trash, or even items you *think* are helpful, actually create a logistical burden/nightmare. Your trash is NOT someone (in need)'s treasure! Good options include: Team Rubicon - American Red Cross - World Central Kitchen - Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation #SendCashNotTrash #DisasterManagement #DisasterRelief
To meaningfully support victims of the #LAFires, now is the time to donate MONEY to your favorite local charity. Do not clean out your closet, send a teddy bear, or setup a supply drive at this time. Cash fuels smart, real-time decisions and doesn't add to the chaos of an already immense tragedy. That time will come. Consider donating to Team Rubicon or signing up to #volunteer. City of Hope remains safe from the fires due to the tireless efforts of our first responders, but this tragedy has deeply impacted our community. Many of our team members have lost their homes or are facing significant fire and smoke damage. Several people have asked how you can help, and we are raising funds to support them through City of Hope. It’s world suicide prevention day today. Fittingly ‘Start the conversation’ is a mandated course for all our workers to teach people how to ask and check in on their friends family and colleagues, and what signs to look out for. Essentially it’s about looking for something that’s not someone’s ‘norm’ and acting on a gut feeling. Ask twice. Be genuine. Be kind. You never really know what someone’s going through. Murphy have also partnered with Rugby League Cares to produce a series of podcasts for our workforce, talking about topics from suicidal thoughts to stress, sleep and resilience. It’s important to talk and normalise these conversations. So today, check in on those around you, and start the conversation, it might make a huge difference to someone’s day, and someone’s choices 💚 #worldsuicidepreventionday #construction The Lighthouse Charity Movember
Today is World Suicide Prevention Day, which aims to highlight what is, tragically, a year-round issue. In the UK alone, two construction workers take their own life every day. The theme of this year’s day is ‘Start the Conversation’. Often reaching out can be all that is needed to help someone seek support - so why not check in with a colleague today? Additionally, construction charity, The Lighthouse Charity, offers free confidential help, advice and counselling services for construction workers and their families. 📞 Call UK: 0345 605 1956 / ROI: 1800 939 122 Or text hardhat to: UK 85258 / ROI 50808 If you are going through a tough period, please remember you are not alone and support is available 💚👷 #WSPD, #WSPD2024, #StartTheConversation #WorldSuicidePreventionDay
