Women in construction face unique challenges in a male-dominated field. Stereotypes, biases, and earning trust and credibility can be tough hurdles to overcome. Creating an inclusive work atmosphere and breaking down gender-based leadership stereotypes can be ongoing struggles. But these obstacles don't stop these women from advocating for equal opportunities and finding the right balance between assertiveness and approachability. It's a complex journey, but these project managers make sure their voices are heard and their hard work is acknowledged. Let's continue to support and uplift women in construction and work towards a more inclusive industry. #WomenInConstruction #ProjectManagement #DiversityAndInclusion

An interesting thought posted by Ambition Theory regarding the construction industry https://lnkd.in/gE5n5nrq "Men are often identified as potential leaders and given training, exposure, and opportunities to grow, while women typically have to prove themselves before being considered for leadership roles. " This becomes a vicious cycle. When the diversity gap becomes obvious, some organizations then want to boost their numbers and select a person representing diversity for senior leadership roles based on numbers without properly evaluating their skills and potential, breeding resentment and potentially exposing themselves to risks. Let's do a better job and groom our young people based on their potential, and inject diversity into our coaching, mentoring and training right from the start of hiring.
