He used to work for 16-17 hours a day, 7 days a week when he was building Naukri. He earned no salary for 6 years. He got admission into an IIT in 11th grade, yet he chose to pursue his education at St. Stephen's in Delhi University. He rejected IIM Calcutta for work experience and then went to study at IIM Ahmedabad in the infamous batch of 1989. And today, he has built an empire worth Rs. 80,000 Crores! He's none other than Sanjeev Bikhchandani, the founder and executive vice chairman of Info Edge. In the latest episode of "Konversation with Kushal", I engaged in a deep discussion with him over his early life, experience at Stephen's and IIM Ahmedabad, and eventually about his journey of building legendary companies like Naukri.com, jeevansathi.com, 99acres.com etc. His interesting insights around work life integration over work life balance as an entrepreneur, the importance of grades in life etc. would definitely help you think about life more a different lens. The podcast also includes his investment strategy of finding the right companies like Zomato and Policy Bazar, his intent behind building the Ashoka University and more, all of which makes this conversation a huge value addition for entrepreneurs and those who're looking to do big things in life. 𝐀𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐲𝐬𝐢𝐬 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐥𝐲𝐬𝐢𝐬: 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐠𝐠𝐥𝐞 𝐢𝐬 𝐑𝐞𝐚𝐥! 𝑨𝒔 𝒂 𝒇𝒐𝒖𝒏𝒅𝒆𝒓, 𝒉𝒂𝒗𝒆 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒓 𝒇𝒆𝒍𝒕 𝒔𝒕𝒖𝒄𝒌 𝒘𝒉𝒆𝒏 𝒊𝒏𝒊𝒕𝒊𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒚𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝒔𝒕𝒂𝒓𝒕𝒖𝒑? You have a great idea, but lack the prerequisite knowledge of your audience base, product management, product creation, or brand story. This is where analysis paralysis sets in, and you're unsure of how to move forward. That's where a grand strategist comes in! Today, I had the privilege of attending a session on Brand Strategy by Vanshika Mehta ma'am in collaboration with Startup Jharkhand. Here are the key takeaways that resonated with me: 1. 𝑩𝒖𝒊𝒍𝒅 𝒂𝒏 𝒆𝒎𝒐𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏𝒂𝒍 𝒄𝒐𝒏𝒏𝒆𝒄𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝒘𝒊𝒕𝒉 𝒚𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝒂𝒖𝒅𝒊𝒆𝒏𝒄𝒆: Combine functionality with expertise to create a bridge between your brand and your customers' emotions. 2. 𝑫𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒍𝒐𝒑 𝒂 𝒖𝒏𝒊𝒒𝒖𝒆 𝒗𝒂𝒍𝒖𝒆 𝒑𝒓𝒐𝒑𝒐𝒔𝒊𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 (𝑼𝑽𝑷): Clearly define what sets you apart from competitors and makes your brand unique. 4. 𝑪𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒕𝒆 𝒂 𝒖𝒏𝒊𝒇𝒊𝒆𝒅 𝒃𝒓𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒗𝒐𝒊𝒄𝒆 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒕𝒐𝒏𝒆: Establish a consistent tone and voice that reflects your brand's personality and values. 5. 𝑬𝒎𝒑𝒂𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒛𝒆 𝒘𝒊𝒕𝒉 𝒚𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝒄𝒖𝒔𝒕𝒐𝒎𝒆𝒓𝒔: Put yourself in their shoes to understand their needs, problems, and pain points. 6. 𝑪𝒓𝒂𝒇𝒕 𝒂 𝒄𝒐𝒎𝒑𝒆𝒍𝒍𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒃𝒓𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒔𝒕𝒐𝒓𝒚: Use a narrative structure (beginning, conflict, resolution, happy ending) to integrate your services or products and showcase how you solve real problems. Thanks, Vanshika Mehta ma'am and Startup Jharkhand team, for the insightful session! If you're struggling with analysis paralysis, consider seeking guidance from a grand strategist to help you clarify your brand strategy and move forward with confidence. #BrandStrategy #StartupJharkhand #GrandStrategist

Reflecting on a journey from a familiar hometown to a bustling city, full of excitement and nervousness, can be transformative. This was the case for me when I left Nashik to pursue my MBA in Entrepreneurship in Mumbai. Over the past two years, I've experienced a whirlwind of emotions, faced numerous ups and downs, and navigated through late-night projects, interactive sessions, and endless networking opportunities. Each day presented a new set of challenges, pushing me out of my comfort zone and helping me grow both personally and professionally. One of the most rewarding aspects of this journey has been the opportunity to meet and connect with so many incredible people from diverse backgrounds. Collaborating on group projects, engaging in lively discussions during classes, and attending networking events, I've had the privilege of learning from some of the brightest minds in the field of entrepreneurship. Of course, the journey wasn't without its share of setbacks and moments of doubt. But through perseverance, resilience, and the unwavering support of my peers and mentors, I was able to overcome those challenges and emerge stronger than ever. As I look back on these past two years, I feel an immense sense of gratitude for the experiences that have shaped me into the person I am today. Leaving my hometown and stepping into the unknown was daunting, but it has ultimately been one of the best decisions of my life. I'm proud of how far I've come, and I'm excited to see where this journey takes me next 🚀 #Entrepreneurship #MBA #PersonalGrowth #TransformativeExperience

"Listening to others, especially those who have walked the path before you, is one of the best ways to grow." - Warren Buffett As a MBA student, this quote perfectly encapsulates our learning journey. B-schools often provide invaluable opportunities to hear from industry leaders, and recently, we had the chance to learn from Mr. Abhishek Azad, one of the founders of TOSSIN PIZZA. His story is nothing short of inspiring. Starting out as an hourly staff member at McDonald's with zero experience, he faced skepticism and criticism but remained steadfast in his choices. His unwavering commitment helped him realize his passion for the food industry. He shared several key lessons from his journey like: his principle of never offering discounts in business, holding onto equity firmly, and viewing challenges as opportunities. When I asked him to share one such incident, he mentioned when delivering 15-inch pizzas posed a problem, a simple shift in perspective turned it into a win-win opportunity. His insights were both practical and motivating. He emphasised on the importance of not letting obstacles deter us when we are passionate about something. While people may start from different points, it’s the journey that shapes the outcome. He also highlighted the difference between diverting and diversifying, underscoring how crucial diversification is for business enhancement. He shared six crucial points for success: patience, perseverance, focus, not being a “glorified postman” (that is don’t just do what you have been asked to do but process information and take decisions), stick to the process and the results will come, and always remember your day 1 to stay grounded in the journey ahead. The most impactful lesson for me was his “You vs. You” mindset. His responses reflected this clarity of thought and showcased his core beliefs. Success, according to him, is defined by our own expectations, not by others’. It’s about maximizing our own potential. Abhishek Azad thank you for your time and valuable insights. Looking forward to trying Tossin Pizza, very soon. Would also like to take a moment and thank the E-cell of IMT Nagpur for organising this session. In my next post, I will share my learnings from another such visionary entrepreneur. Stay tuned! :) Institute of Management Technology, Nagpur

"Balancing Curiosity and Growth" I’ve had my fair share of wins and failures, and I’ve gone through a lot trying to figure out what I want to pursue long-term. One thing that’s always fascinated me is how companies market their products—when does the process even begin, and what actually goes into it? I’m sure it’s nothing like Emily in Paris. That curiosity led me to enroll in Indian Institute of Management Nagpur Product and Brand Management PG certificate program. Around the same time, I joined a venture studio as a Growth Operations Specialist. On the surface, my studies and job don’t really connect, but both have made me look at things differently. I now see the startup I’m working with as a product itself—thinking about how it can grow and evolve. I’d love to hear your story—how did you figure out what direction to take? And how do you manage juggling two different things at the same time? #personaldevelopment #SelfIntrospection #IIMNagpur #marketing #brandmanagement

At the age of 24, without any marketing, Anant Avinash Bhandari from Udaipur, Rajasthan, created a successful talk show. Anant got the inspiration to start a podcast from a college event where students were given a platform to share their journeys. However, he realized that many stories remain unheard because not everyone gets the right opportunity. With this thought, he launched “aRAb TALKS,” aimed at providing people with the right platform. So far, aRAb TALKS has completed 100 episodes, featuring a diverse range of guests including entrepreneurs, politicians, artists, and monks, sharing their life journeys. Anant, who already had knowledge of video production, made his talk show successful purely through word-of-mouth publicity, without any formal marketing. This experience taught him valuable lessons like completing one’s education before starting a business, strengthening learning, and maintaining the quality of work, which he believes are the first steps toward success. Today, Anant is invited as a speaker at various entrepreneurial events and colleges to share his knowledge. His journey serves as a true inspiration for today's youth. . #TheSavageHumans #SavageStories #AnantAvinashBhandari #aRAbTALKS #Podcast #Inspiration #YouthEmpowerment #Storytelling #Entrepreneurship #Udaipur #SuccessStory #Motivation #MouthPublicity #KnowledgeSharing #ChangeMakers #PlatformForAll #ExplorePage

I had a Discussion with Anand Manik Ingle founder of Quantastic Marketing Pvt Ltd and alumni of IIM Lucknow on career development and personal growth. And I realized exactly where our Genz generation is lacking and what superpowers the Millennial generation really has. Here are some key takeaways for my generation 💡 1. Many times we think we can do everything but we need to stop overthinking somewhere and stay steady and excel in at least one thing. 2. Yes !! exploration is important but being consistent on one thing can become your superpower. 3. Of course we deserve the best things in life but in the pursuit of the best sometimes we lose the good things. 4. It is important to be present where we are and give your 100% to work with your own innovation. 5 . One of his super lines that clicked with me the most was "Remember you creating your autobiography and someone is going to read it in the future." And it groove my mind. Thank you sir, for the insights! What are your thoughts?Share in the comments! 👇 #LearningFromLeaders #Careers #Entrepreneurship #IIMLucknow #PersonalDevelopment #MrunalArote
