In my career journey , I have realized that networking, building relationships and mirroring the paths of admirable successful individuals in one's selected industry is crucial for growth. The actualization of these convictions have engineered my growth thus far. I remember having to resume work a few months back as an in-store merchandiser for NIVEA . I was confident in my expected delivery, as the job position was the exact same as my current position. Alas, I was wrong. The new role came with its uniqueness and technicalities and I was eager for a good challenge! Asking questions for in depth clarity is the first card I would always put forward in times like these and it never declines. Fostering relationships with my bosses and asking them vital questions significant to my job/tasks/industry is an added advantage, as it has made me knowledgeable and observant in my area of expertise. My curiosity led me to LinkedIn. The platform gave me online access to further connect and network with top executives, industry experts and colleagues who share similar passion, goals and aspirations as I. Their posts and stories have become a major force of resistance and inspiration on my "not-so-very-great" days. Cheers to great networking. #NIVEA

In mid-July, I completed my sales internship at L'Oréal India, and it has been an incredibly transformative experience. Let me share my journey and insights. I joined L'Oréal as a Sales Intern this summer. During my interview, I was asked if I was comfortable working in the field under extreme weather conditions. I quickly agreed, not fully realizing the extent of the challenge. In mid-May, I was assigned to Ghaziabad, West UP. Those familiar with the NCR region will understand the intensity of the weather I encountered. There were days when my Bisleri bills exceeded my lunch expenses. I found myself showering thrice a day: once in the morning, once under the scorching sun, and once upon returning home from work. As a sales professional, the weather does not dictate my responsibilities (unless it becomes extreme). To be brutally honest, I initially found the work unappealing. For the first ten days, I vented my frustrations to friends and family every evening. I felt I wasn’t cut out for this and was disappointed. However, during one market visit, I successfully facilitated several sales, engaged confidently with shopkeepers, and negotiated favourable deals. That day marked a turning point for me. The experience empowered me in ways that are difficult to articulate. From then on, I chased that feeling. Although some days were less productive, I persisted, driven by the positive feeling from that fulfilling day. I am proud to say that I have overcome my cribbing and developed a strong affinity for sales as a profession. I am so grateful to everyone who has supported me so far in this journey. To be perfectly candid, the subpar food at my PG in Noida left me constantly fatigued. I often resorted to junk food to satisfy my hunger. Eventually, I moved to an apartment with my friends in Delhi, which significantly improved my health and energy levels. It turns out that my main issue was nutrition rather than the heat. Another misconception I had about sales was its simplicity, assuming it was merely about numbers and negotiation. However, sales encompasses much more. It involves Marketing, Finance (handling numbers and mental math), Operations (inventory optimization and supply chain management), Strategy (setting targets and planning), Human Resources (managing relationships with internal and external stakeholders), Technical skills (proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and Power BI for advanced data visualization), Retail Management (maintaining POSM and merchandising), and much more. I believe it is pretty reasonable to think that mastering sales gives you a bit of expertise in almost every field. P.S. - Here’s a picture of me on my way to the first day of my internship.

Beauty Account Manager: Licensed Textured Hair Stylist + Sales, Education & Experiential Marketing Specialist
How I Spotlighted Beauty Brands to Win on the Sales Floor: As an experienced Beauty Account Manager, I have worked diligently to implement different activations to grow a brand’s retail sales. I developed strong relationships with customers, beauty advisors, key business executives and stakeholders. I’ve worked to identify new business opportunities by evaluating retail sales metrics followed by demographics, areas median income and staying connected to beauty trends. I also bring 10+years of retail sales beauty experience with both personal and professional awareness. I have recruited, trained, coached, motivated, and developed associates on procedures, product knowledge, and team/individual productivity goals. As a top selling specialist, I worked on the Sales & Education portfolio to train beauty team members on the “How to Sell” motto. I spearheaded quarterly beauty trainings/seminars for retailers Ulta Beauty, Sally Beauty, Walgreens and more. As an experienced “Retail Beauty Sales Scholar” and a lover of the beauty industry I have created my own training style to help internal and external team members be successful. I did weekly store visits where I educated, sold, and answered all questions from leadership, customers, and beauty advisors. Understanding the key drivers and conversion rate allowed me the ability to be successful. When hiring brand ambassadors and street team members I created digital assets and did continuous training sessions with my team. I prepared my team for in-store events, expos, and beauty pop-ups. Not everyone will start as a top-seller but teaching the fundamentals and hiring someone who has the genuine passion to succeed is key. This guy (Chris Lewis) became my manager more than 1 year ago and when I heard about him coming from Trade Marketing to Logistics, to Sales and now HR Director…, I though “How’s this possible??” 👀 As pure HR people, I always pushed the internal mobility, considering we can learn almost EVERY hard skills, but HR I though “it is too complex, the process can complicated, one needs some expertise to do that job…” HOW WRONG I WAS! 😅 #ABInBev trusts the employees potential, their motivation and their curiosity 👊 Even I, as someone who only did HR in her career so far, I am thinking… why not completely change when my company is letting me the opportunity?? 😃 💡 At ABInBev, we value people who are curious, ambitious, and willing to step out of their comfort zone, because we're convinced that's how you develop great talents and create a future with more cheers 🚀🍻 Willing to try?? 👉 https://lnkd.in/eRuBzheP hashtag#DreamBig hashtag#ABInBev hashtag#BestBeerJob hashtag#Careers

The American beauty conglomerate reported second-quarter sales dropped 7% to $4.3 billion, but shares jumped as much as 19% on news of a restructuring plan and a workforce reduction. Estée Lauder has about 62,000 employees globally and will eliminate 3% to 5% of those jobs. The profit recovery plan is expected to drive incremental operating profits of $1.1 to $1.4 billion if successful. Brands in the portfolio would emerge leaner and more profitable. Fabrizio Freda, President and Chief Executive Officer, said, “We are, encouragingly, at an inflection point. We believe this now-larger plan will better position the Company to restore stronger, and more sustainable profitability while also supporting sales growth acceleration and increasing agility and speed-to-market.” #beautybusiness #beautyindustry #esteelauder #finance
