Recently, a major US airline eliminated network device config drift with Itential's Golden Configuration capabilities - saving over $47M per year. That savings came from eliminating periods of network downtime which cost about $1M per hour by impacting passenger bookings and plane takeoffs. Golden Configuration trees allowed them to apply hierarchical configuration standards across thousands of devices with ease and automate configuration changes to avoid drift. **Microsoft Outage Causes Frontier Airlines to Briefly Ground All Flights** =========================================================== A recent Microsoft outage caused Frontier Airlines to briefly ground all its flights on Friday. The airline's IT systems, which rely on Microsoft technology, were affected by the outage, leading to the suspension of all flights. The outage, which lasted for about an hour, affected Frontier Airlines' check-in, baggage handling, and other critical systems. The airline's crew and passengers were affected, causing inconvenience and delays. Frontier Airlines apologized for the disruption and worked to resolve the issue as quickly as possible. The airline's IT team worked with Microsoft to resolve the issue, and flights resumed after the outage was resolved. The incident highlights the importance of reliable IT systems in the airline industry, where even a brief outage can cause significant disruption and impact passenger safety.
