Reflecting on a Year of Growth… The past 12 months have marked my debut in the sales and business development world at SG Analytics, and what a ride it's been! From learning the art of writing engaging notes to building relationships and embracing adaptability, every lesson has been a stepping stone toward growth. Among the many lessons learned, one of the biggest takeaways has been the importance of forging genuine connections. Beyond meeting leads, it's about understanding needs and adding real value. This approach has not only deepened my relationships but has also unlocked exciting opportunities for our clients at SG Analytics. Adaptability has also been key – having colleagues like Simran and Rajat, an enterprise practice head like Vikram, and the business head, Nandakumar, and our Sales and Relationship mentor Simran - made the last 12 months so memorable. The Life Sciences and Healthcare business landscape is ever-evolving, and staying on course has been crucial for our CAT team (coined by Kulwinder – our CMO). Whether it's offering new lines of services or bundling them together – Insights and Analytics, Product Launch vs Market Assessment, Clinical Trials, or Patent Data Analytics, New Product Forecasting vs KOL Identification, I am embracing change to keep us ahead of the curve. I am committed to applying all the learnings in the next 12 months and seeing where the world of analytics takes me. As I raise a toast to a year of superb partnership, learning, development, successes, a few disappointments, and different emotions, I remember the saying: "Fail fast, learn fast, grow fast." In talking about management, McKinsey & Company recently said, “Resilience is a new muscle for everyone and how boards and management teams work together to build that muscle is going to be extremely important.” Resiliency is also a key ability to have as a panelist; in other words, how well can you bounce back from a lousy survey that you were asked to complete? If you’re not too resilient, that lousy survey may be the last time a panel company has you as one of their panelists. Lousy surveys will never be entirely eliminated from market research but a lousy respondent experience, that time from the opening of the invite that a panelist sees in their inbox to that moment when the initial survey question is to be answered, can indeed fade into oblivion. 🌟 Reflecting on Industry Insights 🌟 I recently had the pleasure of hearing from Mark McPherson, Principal Business Analyst at Aware Super, and his insights have profoundly influenced my approach to problem-solving and collaboration. Mark's experience and perspective on business analysis as a "psychologist in the office" resonated deeply with me. His emphasis on understanding problems through empathy, defining them clearly before jumping to solutions, and the role of analysts in translating complex information for various stakeholders have given me a fresh perspective on my work. In my role as a Sales Appointment Setter at HealthShare, I’ve been applying Mark’s advice on integrating feedback and maintaining empathy. His point about the importance of interpersonal skills and engaging with people beyond the desk has encouraged me to refine my approach in interacting with clients and colleagues.
