💙The science of laughing💙
🤣
We all have those people in our lives. The ones who laugh without any disregard. Who will enter the conversation with a punchline when you didn’t even see the joke coming.
🤣
There is a stunning amount of research that shows that people these days are more or less living in a ‘fight or flight’ response.
😂
Reminder: Fight or flight is our natural stress response that allows us to run away from a 🐅 saber-toothed tiger. It’s supposed to be short-lived. But the stress that many of us are living with day to day is triggering that response continually.
😆
Sharing fun times and laughs with friends or family (or even on your own, watching a funny movie or ridiculous golf memes.. thx scottie.scheffler, Jimmy Rex , Jeremy Neves , Jordan Smith ) lowers your stress levels!
🤣
I think we can all agree that letting out a good laugh makes you feel more relaxed. Why is it that you feel that relaxation? Because it disarms your nervous system. We all need to realize and reflect on those moments where we lose our self in those laughs that bring that genuine joy!
😆
Humans are social creatures, and sharing good times is one way we find community. Humor and laughter naturally create bonds between us. Say you’re meeting someone new. If you can throw in a joke and make them laugh it’s like, OK, we get each other; and you start to feel like you can be more your authentic self with them.
😂
When you literally LAUGH OUT LOUD you bring in heaps of extra oxygen, which decreases your heart rate and stimulates your nervous system. When we get all this oxygen to our organs, our heart rate decreases and things like brain fog can dissipate. It’s the opposite of the stress response. Increased oxygen can help you think more clearly and just allow your body to let go.
🤣
WHAT HAS HELPED ME???
😂
I think about something that would normally make me smile or laugh, and I engage with that thought purposefully for a few minutes. Imagining a happy scenario helps me relax my mind and body!
Taking it to a whole new level and for a more complete effect, make the time to do things that make you happy! Like golf!🏌🏽♂️
#laugh 🤣💙

3moEver since COVID, I had to forego my lifelong IT career and do work I've never done before. I've been complemented and favorited many times. I've told people it's like the story of the tortoise and the hare. The tortoise was slower, but more focused on the goal, more diligent, and won the race. The hare was faster, but raced in energy blasts, goofed off between energy blasts, wasn't focused on the goal, and lost the race. There are many life application takeaways in the Story of the Tortoise and the Hare...
