About a year ago, we came together with providers, hospitals, advocates, and people affected by mental illness to launch Mission Zero - setting the aspiration and blueprint to ELIMINATE emergency department boarding of adults with psychiatric needs once and for all. Fueled by teamwork, creativity, and trust (oh, and a good $50 million or so in investment), we accelerated and invested in comprehensive prevention, acute care, and discharge/recovery supports. The power of that dynamic coalition and multi-faceted problem-solving is astonishing. In recent weeks, the waitlist has reached as low as three adults awaiting transfer from a private hospital emergency department to an inpatient psychiatric bed (compared to about 60 a year ago). Much more remains to be done, but today's op-ed by Commissioner Weaver captures the momentum at hand. We will continue ensure people with mental health and substance use issues are treated with dignity and given the supports they need to lead meaningful lives.

We are happy to share the findings from our research article titled "Usability, Acceptability, Feasibility, and Effectiveness of a Gamified Mobile Health Intervention (Triumf) for Pediatric Patients: Qualitative Study." Mental disorders are prevalent in children with chronic illnesses, and access to psychological support is crucial for their well-being. That's why we explored the potential of our mobile health game, Triumfland Saga, as a supportive treatment measure. Our study aimed to evaluate the usability, acceptability, and feasibility of delivering psychological and treatment support via our solution in a clinical setting, while also assessing its preliminary effectiveness. The results? Patients positively perceived Triumfland Saga, with high usability and acceptability evaluations. They found the game engaging and easy to use, while also providing beneficial and trustworthy information. Even after the study, many continued to use the game, highlighting its lasting impact. Psychological support and mini-games were among the most utilized components, with patients seeking support or education numerous times throughout the intervention period. Importantly, we observed a statistically significant decrease in general health problems, indicating the potential of Triumf to improve health outcomes. #TriumfHealth #MobileHealth #PediatricHealthcare #ResearchHighlight Read the article: https://lnkd.in/d5G6ruH
