Despite PGx testing being instituted into standard clinical workflows, genotype-guided recommendations are not being adopted by all prescribers during treatment. To change standard of care, professional society clinical practice guidelines would need to endorse these recommendations; however, there has been hesitancy to do so without prospective randomized controlled trial data.
