We all know the band Devo...famous for the 80s New Wave hit Whip It. But do you know the meaning of the band name? Devo comes from the concept of "de-evolution" and the band's related idea that rather than continuing to evolve, mankind had begun to regress, as evidenced by the dysfunction and herd mentality of American society. It's a concept that I personally believe in. All you have to do is turn on the news to see proof. "When a problem comes along. You must whip it Before the cream sits out too long. You must whip it When something's going wrong. You must whip it' What does this have to do with transition? Everything. As you leave the Military life behind you, are you evolving or devolving? Are you moving forward in a way that is consistent with bettering your life for you and your family? Or are you adding to the chaos that we are witnessing with your words, your tone and your actions. Let's prove that we are evolving by showing we care for one another. By helping and elevating others instead of stepping on them. "Now whip it, Into shape, Shape it up, Get straight. We all get so caught up in our fast-paced lives that we sometimes forget to be thoughtful. And yet, kindness doesn't require grand gestures or a lot of money. Consider doing something nice today (and everyday) for Service members, Veterans or a their family members. Consider some of these ideas: * Inquire how they are doing and listen actively to the answer. * Bring him/her their favorite coffee or soda. * Mow their lawn, pick up leaves or trash in their yard. * Invite him/her to your book club or civic group. * Pick up your neighbor's newspaper on your daily walk and place it within easy reach. * Send a hand-written note of gratitude or encouragement. #baltimore legend, Carnell Nichols AKA #trendsetterrrrrr even has #airforce personnel in the #USMilitary in the act with his dance. Not sure this is new, but the legend keeps growing! Nichols is very creative and understands how to work the short YouTube medium as well as ride/create memes. It's literally the same dance over and over but with different situations and skits, and I'm here for it, lol! It just shows how effective you can be at online marketing IMO, with a small budget if your concept is good and you have talent + consistency.
