From 19/08/2024 to 23/08/2024 I attended a training at Rutongo titled “MENYANIBI FRONTLINE SUPERVISORY LEADERS (FSL)-Part A ”prepared by #TrinityMetals and delivered by #SML4CHANGE. The course was designed to sharpen our leadership level and to enhance the skills level of our Frontline Supervisory at working place and the real world of #BusinessMining in simulated manner. We were deeply trained but not limited to on how: ✓To lead a group of workers and perform their duties efficiently towards production target; ✓Importance of working as team/team player and what effective communication does in completing duties among team members; ✓Trinity strategic pillars, execution, principles and practices as an extended guidelines in our job of supervision ✓How to approach the problems when raised in working places and how to give a proper solutions ✓Ethics and characteristics of leadership; ✓To invest a company’s resources in mining business by taking extra care on what goes in and out in the business; ✓Importance of upgrading of #security, #safety and #maintenance levels in making business viable and sustainable; ✓Importance of keep investing in #development and #infrastructure operations of a mine in its mine life ✓The big source of non-value added activities which lead to evaluation of a rate of “productivity time” such as: -Lost time during mining travelling/move men and materials, maintenance; -To evaluate time which not used in operation (Mining time unused) -Unused time by logistics ✓How a supervisor/a mine leader can demonstrates his/her #3Cs: a #Care (acts of networking with others in your gathering, compassion and how you trait others), #Characters (as a sign of moral integrity and awareness); and #Competence (effective leading and live with a purpose) during performing his/her duties. With this training session and others to come in future, We are now capable to contribute to the long term plan of Trinity-Metals of “Increasing tonnage on operations of 300 Tons at Rutongo, 150-200 Tons at Nyakabingo and 100 Tons at Musha by the year of 2030; to completely eradicating the illegal mining and theft in the company” to name few. #CapacityBuilding #MiningSupervisory #RMB #BetterMining #SML4Change
